I've been thinking of getting a a new 7D

Depends on the shoot. I was using a Rebel T1i and 10-22/18-55/50f1.8 for the longest time. Recentley picked up a 5D and 17-40L too.

I run all my photos through Lightroom and Photoshop.

Good lighting is a game changer. Good lighting usually means less ps work. Nice job!
