I agree with the reason for the threads being moved, but i DEFINITELY agree that they should be able to run their course for a day or two, then be properly sorted.

thanks for the info jimmy & others..

im glad this is being done .. thanks to jimmy we now have a moderator who will make it happen .. terminator talk became the main hwy in this section and it got all the traffic .. it needed to be organized

jimmy... where are you moving pics/videos of our cars? i havent noticed if you are moving them from terminator talk or not

....it would be nice if we had a specific subforum for pics beings we like to post pics so much of small add-ons and what not... course i know there is the pics and video buffet but not many like to post over there bc not many terminator specific owners will see their shots

Terminator Specific pics and video!!! That my friend is an excellent idea!:beer: I have been leaving them here if they are of a general Terminator nature. I will suggest it to Travis since I think we are ditching the Tech subform on our re-org. I like that idea!

Jimmy,
Is there any way to delete the thread titles instead of each thread reading "Moved" after the transfer? I'll assume (hope) most members utilize the user CP to check on their threads and don't actually go to each section and look. In which case the moved thread note is useless. In all honesty it's getting sloppy, not to mention possibly wasting some bandwidth. I understand if it's not possible due to the forum type being used; just wanted to post some constructive criticism.

Yes, I can shorten the life of the redirect, I have been using the default setting. Another good idea. I have been wanting to, but was not sure if it would mess people up. If they look for their posts the way you described they will be fine.

Unless I deem it news worthy enough, it's going to get moved if it is in the wrong section.

Terminator Talk is for general Terminator discussion and news.
The more posts put here that belong in a specific sub forum the more traffic is taken away from the guys that are doing it right.

People are now using the subforums, the views and post are noticeably up.
I am NOT going to allow wrong forum posts to ride for two days just to make people feel good about how many views they get. It is counter productive.

If we use the subforums my engine specialist guys who hang out in there, will see the engine related posts... and so on.

More info on this... I am one who goes and searches through pages of threads looking for my thread in a (lets say) Market section where I'm selling something. I didn't know you can go and track the threads you start through User CP.

Instructions?

Go to any post of yours you can find.
Click on your user name.
A drop down will appear and you will have choices.

You can select posts you made, and some other stuff.
You can also use this on other peoples user name to look at their recent post history, which can be quite revealingly, in some cases. :)

Oh, I knew I could do that. He mentioned somewhere in User CP (assuming he meant the option at the top) that you can check your threads.

You can do it there too, it's just more clicks, but if you can't find a post to click on your name, it will let you accomplish the same thing.

After you log in, click on your name where it says -> Welcome Red Poison , at the top right.

That takes you to your profile, then click on statistics. That gives you multiple choices there too.

I just merged this "Moved Threads?" with my older "Where the heck did my thread go" thread.

I also just cleaned out a whole crap load of the redirected threads out of Talk history.
If you look back through, you may notice the difference.:-D:beer:

So mine was just deleted then? Steggy VS. Posi?

Correct!

Do a search! I am not going to allow another vendor war on here.
You can find that old one and read that.:read:

They are both paying vendors on this site and neither one wants threads like that, where a bash fest takes place. And make no mistake, that is EXACTLY WHAT WOULD HAPPEN!:nonono:

If you have blower questions they do not go here in Terminator Talk anyway.:nonono:

It was essentially a double fail in my view.

Perhaps, and quite likely, you were unaware of the rivalry and animosity between those vendors before posting it, but now you know.

By no means was I trying to start any B.S. like that nor did I know of any animosity between them. I was simply trying to get some useful info that turned out to be my bad. Sorry about that. The reason I put it in the Talk section was I wanted input from 03/04 Cobra owners only. Once again this is my bad.

PS... I did a search for that type of thread and came up with nothing. I'll try again.

Not a problem.

The entire Terminator forum is for 03/04 Cobras, if you look here: The Terminator - SVTPerformance

You will see Terminatorville in it's entirety. Most of what gets discussed on here is Engine/Tuning related, yet Talk still gets a bunch of posts.
I expect that to change eventually and Engine/Tuning become number 1.

Jimmy,

I thought about another possible change that would be beneficial. Instead of having a turbo cobra section it could be changed to an aftermarket forced induction section. It would bring a little less talk posts and at the same time open some peoples minds up to an option they may not have considered and end up happier. Then it would be one stop shop for people looking for twin screws, turbo, or compound! Just a thought. Thank you for what you do!
