Dyno

At the time we raced, I didn't have up to date dyno numbers. On the same exact dyno that the Cobra was on, I made 436 rwhp and 409rwtq (SAE, He made 458 on this dyno). For what it's worth my car latest best is 12.68 @ 116mph. That's launching off idle, spinning first and second, stock tires. I will update with new numbers when my slicks arrive (on backorder with M & H).

All the fuss about the 5.0, there is nothing the 5.0 can do that a built 4.6 couldn't do years before if you put the money into it. The mod motor has been stroked and bored to 5.0 and beyond and running 400+ HP long before the Coyote or the 03 Cobras came out. Just ask anyone with a Cobra R or anyone who's put the high dollar work into a n/a 4.6 build. Same with the 03 Cobras, nothing special about them that couldn't be done to a 96 Cobra if you put in the money for forged internals and a blower in 1997. Race groups were running 2000+ HP mod motors long before Coyote or Terminator, and before that they were doing the same with the pushrod 302, and everything else before it since the last 5 decades.

NOTHING NEW TO SEE HERE.

Same shit, different day, just another factory stock car with more "built in bolt ons" from the factory and less aftermarket parts to buy.

Everyone who says you can forge a Coyote and it will be better than a Terminator, well guess what smart asses, you can bore and stroke a 4.6 to get a 5.0L+ Terminator and get some worked up heads to compete with the Coyote. What's the difference? End of the day it's the same shit one way or the other. Lets also not forget the Coyote has the same bore centers as all mod motors, therefore it's max potential is the same as any mod motor.

The only thing that changes is instead of buying a $20,000 99 Mustang GT and putting $10,000 into it with a built DOHC swap to get 400 HP, you just walk into a dealer with $30,000 and drive away in a '11 Mustang GT with 400 HP.

So forgive me If I don't see what everyone is fighting over :burn: I'm going to stick with the car I prefer and spend every dollar I can to make sure it's faster than other cars, both those that came before it AND those that have and will come after it for years to come. Whoopie, so the '11 GT has a ~50 hp advantage without "needing" a blower, so I'll call up MMR and get my own aluminum 5.0+L block see you that 50 HP difference.... and still raise you my forged 8.5:1 internals and a blower.

In summary, STFU and lets get on with the hot rodding!

, now you are adding 7-10K worth of mods to a new car that was never designed with boost in mind,.

Not true, Ford already announced supercharger packages a while ago.

The 5.0 has better cam timing control and far better cooling than the 4.6. It does lack forged internals however. It's a superior motor otherwise, no question.

No doubt I would like to get me one of those engines. After that, I will have it rebuilt with all forged internals and turbo it (dreaming of course).....

I thought the 2011s were able to get the power to the ground better too?

So the only mods were a pulley, exhaust(catback?, headers?, midpipe?), and tune and it trapped 124+.... full weight? Really? Wow that is impressive for so few mods...

wrong. your heads will NEVER have the flow and dynamic cylinder filling a coyote has. no matter how ported they are.

it blows up.

ur funny. think of that yourself? how many blow ups do you know of.

i know EVERY termi in the club has blown . ring lands, bearings, gaskets. ALL of them once they passed the 500rw mark. its was just a matter of time. so dont act like they are unbreakable. the crank going into my 96 was out of a termi. it had a rod bearing spun to .020.

part of the reason im switching pistons in the turbo stang is because they are the same termi's use. i know they will crush a ring land soon enough. CP 2618's are far stronger.

Why not settle this arguement with some races. Lets see some bolt on Terminators race some bolt on 11s, lets see some KB or Whipple Cobras, race some Supercharged 11s.

Nothing can beat the Termi or even compare. It is the ultimate car. Nothing will ever be created to compare the car against. Give it up there is nothing you can do but deal with the greatest car in the world made in 03/04. If you do beat one something was wrong with it or the guy in the Termi couldn't drive. Technology and craftsmanship will never be able to duplicate a car with the potential to destroy everything that it comes across. Termi forever

While I see where you're coming from, as far as overall capabilities. The 4.6L MOD motor has been pushed way further than 99.99999999999% of people would ever dream of pushing it.

However, as a factory N/A car it absolutely decimates the older modular 4.6L 4Vs. A mach1, 99/01 Cobra would be lucky to make 315rwhp with full bolt-ons. I remember there was a guy on here making close to 450rwhp N/A, he had ported FR500 heads, a "big bore 304ci", huge lift billet cams, revving to 8,000rpms+

These guys in the Coyote motors are making 420-440rwhp with a stock longblock, stock internals, stock rev-limiter, 28mpg, yadda, yadda. That's a giant leap in performance. It's WAY more than just .4L of displacement as far as N/A factory modulars go.

The displacement has a lot to do with the additional power. Why do you think Ford added more cubic inches. If you want to stay NA, power has to be created from something because you can't draw air into the motor any greater than atmospheric pressure. Therefore to make more power, you can only redo the heads so they flow better and/or increase the displacement. Air is the key. The more air that moves in and out of the motor, the more power that can be made. People realized this concept along time ago and hence the turbo, supercharger or nitrous. The realized that is you pressurize air (or increase the density), you can then feed more into the motor. This additional air plus a larger amount of fuel and a spark = more power. Just my take on this...

the coyote heads and VVT are the majority of the advantage. porting GT/GT500 heads will equal (exceed) coyote heads, but not much else will.

im curious what fully ported heads with 39mm valves, huge cams, and frpp tunnler ram will do.
