I think nothing more of shooting a coyote than most do swatting a fly. When you own cattle and you have a couple of attacks on calves, your perspective changes. These predators can easily cost you a $600 calf. I shoot them on site if I catch them on my farm.

That being said,

A) That was sick the way they were laughing about what they were doing. I don't laugh when I put down a coyote, it's business, not fun.

B) If you hunt coyotes for sport, then call them in the way 99% of predator hunters do (and me when I'm hunting for them).

C) Most coyotes around here would naw your hand off if you grabbed it in its den.

and finally

D) That was a good shot.

If I see it right, one of the front legs were injured, when he started running... basically just hanging on the veins or fur. Poor animal :( Retarded hunters! :nonono:

Dammit i hate the "pest" or "varmint" arguement, IF YOU HAVE TO GO OUT OF YOUR WAY TO "HUNT" THESE, THEN THEY ARENT VARMINTS! Varmits come to you, and jack up your stuff.. I live in a Metro area, and it bugs the crap out of me when people drive 100 miles to go kill "Varmints".. cause if theyre out in the middle of effing nowhere, who are they bothering?

btw: IM not some hippie Brady bunch Prius driving tree hugger.. My car gets 8mpg, im wearing camo pants right now, and I go shooting twice a week..

Those guys were def. idiots. That animal was wounded when they dragged it out, it had serious damage to one of it's legs, you could see it when it tried to run. They were operating hopefully with a little mercy, but I bet if they found a litter of pup's in the den they would've murdered them brutally knowing dozens of rednecks just like these hillbilly's. I've killed many animals in their respectful seasons and tried my best to take them cleanly with intentions to eat the meat. It takes a small man to laugh like a gitty school girl when killing something.

If you think that is brutal, you should see how they kill the pigs and cows in slaughter houses that you eat everyday. :rollseyes

Brave boy sticking his hand in there.

Coyotes are disgusting mangy pests. Sorry some of you got your feelings hurt.

And comparing a coyotes life to a humans life makes me wonder how many PETA members are in this thread.

Opinions will vary depending on where you live, but if you think this is wrong you'd cry your eyes out if you saw how the snowmobilers take care of these things in the winter up here.

You have no idea what you're talking about.

You know what else, besides coyotes, lives out in the middle of no where? Ranchers and farmers. Coyotes come and kill livestock and **** up land. In order to kill them, you have to go find them. They don't sit there and wait for you to shoot them after they've killed a calf or some chickens, they run and hide just like anything else would. You sometimes have to cover lots of land, or spend lots of time calling (depending on the density and the land you are on) in order to kill them.

Don't talk about something you know. Going shooting twice a week and driving a gas hog doesn't give you any credibility.

Very well said.

Don't forget the wearing camo pants, that makes him a real hunter there.

Coyotes are PREDATORS! They hunt for food and guess what their food source is? Animals. Whether it be a calf, sheep, goat, deer, foal, rabbit, etc. etc. etc. Coyotes don't stand out in the open for you to kill, they hunt at night and are excellent stalkers. You could be 10 yards from one and not see it. The use of calls get them out in the open and close enough for a clean shot.

Say slaughter houses are quick??? Well, I guess if you consider shooting the animal in the head with a special pellet to immobilize it, then stringing it up by it's back feet, then slicing it's throat to drain the blood to kill it. LOL Doesn't bother me, I'm a carnivore and I'm at peace with that.

I also raise cattle, sell the feeder calves off my farm for profit. I know that those calves that I've raised will go to a feed lot to get big and strong, then be slaughtered to go to supermarket shelves. It's business and life, if you don't like it, eat a salad where the habitat and food source to many, many animals are destroyed to bring you that salad. Just think, while you are enjoying your salad, there are several rabbits, deer, etc. that are starving through the winter right now, some even lost their den because of the machinery that harvested that salad and are now out in the cold, having a slow, starving, freezing, death.

This video is not bad at all... I've seen worse in person. lol. But that was definitely a good shot.

Bright blue and ford racer are the only people making sense in this thread. Coyotes are a PITA, they are starting to become a problem in my area... they just recently started appearing the last few years. The deer population has rapidly decreased in the past few years also, could be a coincidence but doubtful.

Think they said they already shot him. If they did then atleast they finished him and not left him there to die. All the laughing and giggling does make it distasteful.

agree..Atleast they did what it took to recover it.They damn sure didnt look dumb enough to be screwing with a uninjured coyote..

Then to those farmers and ranchers... they are Varmints and it is justified what they are doing...

I only mentioned the gas hog and my shooting practices so clarify that im not some left wing activist, but an avid shooter with no concern for social acceptance.... And i have an opinion.
I mentioned this to show where im coming from... Seeing a man dressed up as jesus on a street corner yelling that the end is near.... thats the last guy you want to take religious advice from.
Im the Shooter holding a gun, saying what those jackoffs were doing is disgusting, not exactly holding "ban all guns" "hunting is wrong" "support PETA" signs.

But i see your point with your poor attempt at insulting me.. "Don't talk about something you know" LOL insert "dont" in there somewhere and it would have worked...:read:
I was just stating an opinion based on the area that I live in.... you live in Cousi***y land so your opinions are obviously different, Although i did agree with them above..

LOL yes.... although I meant that to be taken sarcastically.

what i meant to say was "I may not be as inbred as most of you, but i still hold a beer with my right hand, and scratch my nuts with my left hand"

We have coyotes around our neighborhood, which has a lot of homes. Now and then there is a warning announced for people to keep their pets inside and watch their young children. But.....you are not allowed to kill the coyotes, even if they attack your pet. No kidding! You can be arrested. They're protected. Now THAT is pure B.S.! If my young child was playing in the backyard and a coyote attacked, or even made a move towards my child, it would be a dead coyote. If I had a pet and it was attacked by a coyote, it would be a dead coyote.

Really? WOW! thats amazing... Even where I'm at (Hippieville, home of 1,000,000 Prius's with PETA stickers on them) Its legal to take yotes.

Im guessing theres another varmint issue out there that the coyotes feed on such as mongoose, or golpher infestation or something similar that would be way out of hand if the coyotes werent eating them???
