Ok about 1500 miles ago I installed a Fidanza flywheel and Fidanza 4.3 clutch. As soon as it was done it squeaked when you let out on the clutch. So I figured maybe it would quit....... well it didn't. So I assumed that I should have put in a frpp instead of the Fidanza supplied tob so I pulled the trans today and replaced it with an FRPP. The Fidanza one looked worn out so I thught I had it.The retainer sleeve looked ok, no gouges or any thing clutch still looked like new. Put it all back together and bam the bitch squeals when you let out on the clutch. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!! Can anyone shed some light on this please. No matter how much I adjust itstill does it. For referance I ha e a FORE adjuster and a steeda quick release quadrant.

yea someone suggested to me that its common among bronze clutches to make noise when cold but idk how factual that really is lol

Mine never totally goes away though. I just did first to reverse about 20 times in the drive way and 90% of the time it squealed. So I'm wondering if it really is the clutch material? Lethal ( which is where I bought it) says that it should not make any noise at all. So who knows

I guess no one cares. We should do our own reaserch I guess. What type of clutch do you guys have I have the Fidanza obviously. Maybe they are made from a similar materials or something. What type of flywheel do you guys run ect?

mine is a spec stage 3 6puck and as far as materials ther made out of ive heard ppl say that bronze clutches do this but idk how valid that is. as far as lywheel im not sure caus previous owner replaced it but i know its aluminum flywheel but i have noticed my clutch only tends to make the noise when it is cold out

Well mine is straight up embarrassing. It doesn't do much good to have a mystichrome cobra if your clutch squeaks. I might as well drive a yugo.

Have you guys replaced the Pilot bearing? Mine was sounded similar to your issue and my TOB was toast as well.

That's a good call. I didn't think of that. I did however replace mine when I did the clutch. I replaced it with one from federated auto parts.

I hate to say it but you should have the FRPP Pilot in there. I am learning that most of the FRPP stuff is better that aftermarket.

Well federated is quality parts I didn't actually read the part number but they were identical to each other. Chances are they probably are the same part just sold under a different name. I'm reasonably sure that this is not the issue as it would make a noise constantly under load not just when cold or on first gear engagement. I could be wrong though. I was hoping that some one with experience would chime in and save the day, but I guess not.

Well there is not too many things it could be. Either the TOB or Pilot is toast, or the TOB is skipping on the pressure plate forks.

well I looked at the pp when I had the trans out and I didn't notice any significant differences in the diaphram teeth. I didn't measure or check it with any kind of flat edge though. Although that really is the only thing that makes sense because the car has made this sound ever since the day I put the new clucth, tob and pilot bearing in. I didn't think to really check those things as I said because the tob I just pulled out two days ago was beat looking so I just assumed that I had found the problem and slapped it all back together. I think it actually squeals worse now.

HOLY CRAP!!!!!!!Ours makes the same exact sound!!!!!!!!!

When we did our 03 swap I used the Spec 2+ clutch and 03 cobra flywheel we had originally with our 01' engine. Put it together, put the T-56 on it and now it does this!

If you find anything let me know. Ours went from having 30k on it and totally silent to that damn noise!!

We replaced the TOB and Pilot bearing when we did the 03 swap.
