I have BFG 315/35/17s on one of my Cobras. They're a good drag radial that is street friendly, and run pretty wide. I have them on my 17x10.5 reps.

BF Goodrich T/A 2's - I thought they were way way better than the 555's I had. They're also one of the widest 315's out there.

One of the corvette forum's used to have a great post on it, it had a picture of all the manufacturer's drag radials side by side with actual widths. They varied a great deal. But the BF Goodrich's were the widest I think 12.75"'s if I remember. I actually need a spacer to run them on my 17 x 10.5 wheels. But they're well worth it.

I have run 555r's and hankook 315's. Out of the two I would definitely recommend the Nitto tires. I have to run a spacer to get clearance on my exhaust pipes though. Otherwise, they are perfect. Seems like they last a bit longer than most also.

Can you run the 315s on a stock cobra rim? I have Eibach Pro Springs on the car as well. And I am assuming most people will roll their fender wells to accommodate this size of tire?

No. You need at least a 10.5 wheel to safely run a 315/35/17.

Ive ran the Nitto 555R's and the Nitto NT05R's both in a 315/35 on my Fr500 17x10.5's. Both fit just fine with no spacer and didnt have to roll my fenders. Add a 3/8 spacer though and they sit perfect in the wheel well.

Although they are not drag radials, i'll sell you a pair of goodyear f1 g/s d/3s 315's with only 400 miles, for only $350 for the pair plus whatever shipping would be.
1 tire new costs a little over $350 so this is a steal. Send me a pm if interested.

I'm Glad I found this thread......i've been looking online for goodyear gs-d3 275 and 315 combo....seems like I can only find 315/35/17 and 275/40/17......is this right? I was hoping to match up 35 with both the front and the rear, or even 40. Why is this tire so hard to find matching numbers? Or is this the right balance, 35 rear with 40 in the front?

Best tires I've ever had, great traction, lasted long, and looked sick as hell.

A good way to approximate would be width / profile = sidewall. In millimeters of course. I'm pretty sure that was the formula anyway. Or you can google the miata tire size app and use it. It takes the guesswork out.

Thanks Cory and Nate! BF Goodrich was a second choice. Nate, whats your front wheel specs if you don't mind me asking? Also what size spacer did you use for the rear?

so if you get 275/40/17s in the front, is it normal to have 315/35/17 in the rear? I'm just a tad confussed....I understand what the middle number means, but i'm having a tough time finding that 275/35/17 for the front to match with 315/35/17. Sorry if i'm confusing you guys, but i'm looking to buy some goodyear gs-43s and having trouble finding that spec in those tires? Do they not make it?

i dont think the make a 35 for up front, in the 275 anyways. it doesnt throw anything off if your wondering and it looks fine with the different tread wall heights.
