I left Vicenza, Italy last July. I was with the 173rd 1-503. I'm a 5 jump chump. I would have had about 12 jumps but no joke all 7 of them were canceled in the air. That was enough to keep my jump pay active the whole time I was there. 1 year in vicenza and 1 year in afghanistan. I'm now in Ft Detrick, MD where people hide out lol. There are only a handful with jump wings here.

We went to Vicenza every year, from Germany, to attend the Cold Weather School in Fulgaria. Good times. This was from 88-91.

00-03 in C co, 2-319 AFAR(13B). Went by there last year and where it was(across from Towel Stadium) is now the infantry parking lot. Crazy! I got smart and went aviation...for all those looking to reclass.
Headed to 173rd next month in Germany. Can't wait to jump again, hoping to try the new T-11

We are not allowed to jump the T-11 at this time. Plus we are not jumping again until next year.

I like it. Slowed me waaaaaay down. I could give a **** about the weight, at 250 lbs I fall fast as ****, and at 6'2" it fits my frame waaay better. Only complaints I've heard is from small guys who say they fall faster. Their not heavy enough to fully open the canopy

Never knew that. Probably not the smartest move on the army's part then considering riggers have the highest drug and DUI rate on Bragg right now. They're like the dentists of the Army

Well as a parachute rigger. I will have to defend them. Yes, they seem to have a huge drug problem. But I still believe if you tested any other mos as much as riggers get tested. You would find the percentage about the same.

Most rigger units are drug tested 1-2 a month. But I have seen it 2-3 times as well.

Hard to defend them though when we do have so many people that are idiots.

Oh well one day I will realize this job sucks and move on.

I guess the riggers of the 173rd will find out when we get back how hard they are to pack. Last I was tracking the big army put a stop on jumping the T11 after the last 2 issues at Bragg.
