TruFiber hoods

For those with TruFiber hoods, what hood lifts did you use? I see on the TruFiber site they sell a set (the nodrill/close to the hinge style) but I already have the Redlines which I really like. Can I just reuse my Redline Elite setup, or do I need new cylinders/mounts for the new hood?

I have factory over the top stripes on my car (Satin Silver) so does anyone have any suggestions on where I can get matching stripe material for the new hood? I can't afford to have the whole stripe set painted on at this point...

I didn't read your whole post. I was using the Redline Elites also. Talkes to Jr. at Trufiber and it's really not a good idea to use them. May not be a place to mount bracket on hood, plus the rating isn't strong enough to hold hood up.

I have Alloy with Satin Silver stripe also. Having difficulty finding a match for it to do stripes on hood. So does automorphosis have a website?

John Farmer (Mr Farm Dog) can make the stripes that you want, I'm trying to find his website but I am not having any luck. He may be over on one of the other site. I'll post it when I find it.

I have cdc hood struts with my trufiber hood

Those are the ones Trufiber uses. I ordered them but sent them back, didn't care for the natural finish. Wouldn't have looked right with CF hood and Alloy hinges. The black Shelby look really good.

I contacted Auto Morphisis and they are out of town at the moment.

As for the hood lifts, Redline makes kits for SS and KR hoods, but if they aren't appropriate then I don't get it as a lot of the pics on the TF site have Redlines. :shrug:

Good to know. I emailed auto-morphisis, got the out of town response. As far as the Redlines on Trufiber hoods, just going by what Jr. told me on phone. Plus I reaaly don't feel like drilling into a new CF hood to put pop rivets in for the hood brackets. The new Redline no drill bracket can't be used because there is not a hole in the hood like the factory hood.

Let me know about those Satin Silver stripes from John.

Got an update from Auto-morphosis on the Satin Silver stripes. They do not have a match. They say they don't think there is a match out there. They asked for a sample to be sent to them. I don't have a sample. Can anybody send a sample to them so they can see what is out there?

I sent a sample to Mr. Farmdog yesterday. I might be able to send them one as well...but I suspect they are looking through the same samples. Good thing I have an extra piece of stripe I don't need :lol:

BTW...do you have the CF hood? You also posted on TS right? Just keeping track of how many people are asking for the same thing. :rolling:

Yes that's me...CF hood. Had them change username on TS, but never did it here.:rockon:
