LOL! You're an idiot.

Whether or not you actually saw your said cars running your said times is irrelevant. Fact is that your said cars running your said times is in the EXTREME minority. Facts are that those cars weigh as much as an aircraft carrier and are slow as ****.

However, I will admit that live a "sheltered life" because I apparently dont live in the same neighborhood that you do where all these cars are running 10's :rollseyes

Well maybe not in TX but here in Cali there are just as many S/C SRT8's as there are Mustangs at almost every 1/4. We have tons of 9 Second SRT8's in SoCal. Alot are Jeeps but there are Chargers, Challengers and 300's. Most built by ST Motorsports.

Do I need to re-quote my previous post?! For **** sake people, read!

I dont give a rats ass what you saw at you local track. Im not disputing that the cars run what you are saying they run. I dont give a shit about Jeeps, Chargers, or 300's.....SEEING AS THIS THREAD IS INVOLVING A CHALLENGER, IM REFERING TO CHALLENGERS.

Challengers are fat tanks and re slow as ****, even SRT8's. Like I said in my original post, this is the one I've seen that was able to outrun a 100-car freight train.

Allow me to reiterate, what you see at your track is null and pointless because it is far from the norm. Got it? :rollseyes

Just to make it very clear, this was no simple drop in SC and tune srt. It is a fully built motor, 3.6 SC with supporting mods... some guys shouldnt try to downplay the 20k plus spent on just the motor

Didn't a 5.0 with the shitty 67mm hellion kit pull a zr1 too? Had like 560whp and a good driver.

+1 I'm pretty sure Mr. Norms Garage has a low 9 second SRT8 challenger hemi with a 2.9 kenne bell.

Most of the 9 second SRT8's are running kb 4.2 blowers.

thats cause its not everyday you see a built and blown SRT8 compared to built and blown mustangs! Takes a bit more money to do that but the result is amazing!

My friends car went high 10's with just a 3.6 blower, only mod was the engine and fuel sysem. He over rev'ed in the water box ( never been drag racing before) in first second and third gear. Ran a low 11 second pass but the car was breaking up on the top end. He ended up floating the valves which hit a couple of pistons ) no one told him to only give it enough gas to get the tires smoking, he went wot and by the time the auto shifted it over rev'ed). Time for a built motor, it became a money pit ever since.

1k hp and he can't break 9's? lol.

He's using a 275 et street tire. The 60' is really soft so that he doesn't blow the tires away. If i remember it's around 1.70 60. The tuner hasn't turned it up all the way. Wants to make sure the driver doesn't hurt another engine.

That wouldnt be due to the fact that the s/c displaces over half of what the motor does lol

With the 4.2 it's over 3/4 of the 6.1.

My friend car was built by ST motorsports, that's why i know about them.

"Raped?" It has a built motor and a 3.6L blower, but still traps 3 MPH lower than the GT-R. The only thing that got raped here was the wallet of whoever owns that Challenger.

I wouldn't say raped but it does take alot more money to go fast. There are plenty of other cars that cost just as much to mod and not get nearly the hp that our Mustangs get. A box tune for some of those AMG's run 1700.00, wonder how much a custom tune runs?

So true. I guess the difference in socal and back east is we see these cars frequently. Just about any event wether it's car shows, drag racing, open tracking tracking or the mile runs there are usually a couple of them. All street driven full interior for the most part.

It's impressive that they can get these big tanks to move as fast as they do. My friends car was in excess of 4500lbs with him in it.

In general they are slow compared to the rest of the pony cars. Another friend just sold his SRT8 6 speed challeger because everytime he pulled up to a light against a new 5.0 he would just look the other way because he knew he had no chance.

I am happy to see the land yacht's putting down some decent numbers. That's great. But it is by far still the most inefficient 2 dr modern performance car I've ever seen. Put that car on a diet and it'll be a rocket ship. Right now it's like a fast garbage truck

Its still a stock cubed 6.1 with a forged bottom end. Yes it had to be built to handle the 800+rwhp but thats expected.

I know the video you speak of but I can't find it. I Believe that was back when the ZR1 was stock. Heres a Pullied, Tuned 2013 GT500 vs that same ZR1 the Challenger Beat

I'm sure it takes a lot of money to get there.
It sounds like the car in the 2nd video has a PG in it, lol.

Damn they got some haters in this thread...

If a 10.20 is the fastest challenger you have ever seen you should try taking your head outta fords ass and look around. You might discover some things.

I get it, its a ford site but damn dont bash another platform bc of your ignorant fanboy(ish) ways.

$20k+ for a forged 6.1??? LMAO You do realize the 6.1's come with forged cranks already. Most guys just buy pistons and rods when "building" a 6.1. Your numbers are a bit...off.

Its already done. The "Cuda" which will be a supercharged 6.2L in a 34-3600lb alfa romeo platform should be released sometime for the 2015 model year. Hopefully its more like 2014 tho.

Its widely believed the car was spied in the 60 min special. FF to the 10:08 mark. Its def a 2 door and MUCH smaller than the challenger.

Challengers are undersprung, overweight, and slow POS. I use to **** this girl with one, and she'd always want me to drive it whenever we went somewhere because I guess she thought I thought it was a cool car or something. It felt about like driving a Crown Vic with a bunch of blind spots. Throw that kind of power at a prepped Foxbody and see what it does with it.

But yes what that GTR did was way more impressive to me. Running a low 10 in the mid-120 MPH in a car that's fully built to maximize and ET is not that impressive to me, but running close to a mid 10 in the high-120 MPH range in a almost stock car on stock street tires with just a tune and midpipe is extremely impressive to me.
