:pop:
I ordered this gauge & the vent pod from Roush Performance to install in my '12 GT 500 this weekend but I did not see any posts/sticky's outlining how to install one of these.

So what I found is you have to "tap" the vac/boost t-connection up next to the blower [under the hood] on the driver's side, is this true?
There isn't a line behind the glovebox like in the 03/04 Cobra's or below the dash near the computer OBDII plug like in the Lightnings?

Here's the electrical instruction sheet from Roush:

So is it easy to access the wiring in the light switch/dimmer below the vent pod & does anyone have the wire color code for the 2012?

Well I couldn't pull the 2012 diagram but here's one for the 2011 car. I'd assume there's no differences in something as simple as this.

Thanks!
Guess, now where would do you "tap" into to connect the vac/boost tube?
No one has posted any step-by-step install pics....
I searched & searched....
Guess I'll have to take pics of my install & post'em... gotta remember which picture-host site that I use to upload pics...

2012 GT500 Vac/Boost Gauge

So I have the Vac/Boost tubing squared away by adding additional tubing [via male-to-male splicer & automotive-grade vacuum tubing] penetrating the fire-wall on the drivers side "empty" body-plug and up/under the dash to the Roush vent-pod...
But, the Wiring is my problem....
>
I am able to test my gauge with the wires "tapped" on the light-switch harness [behind switch/dimmer] and I used the above posted wiring diagram:
Black wiring in pin# 3
Red wiring in pin# 1 [temporary for power]
Blue wiring in pin# 7 [Nite use]
White wiring in pin#??? [Daytime use]
Where should I "tap" the white wire so that the gauge is illuminated when I put the key in & turn the ignition to the "on" position along with the dash gauges?
>
With the wiring in there current "test" connections/positions, I can turn the light switch in "parking lights or full headlights" positions which activates the LED lighting but the dimmer has to be near max for the blue background or its just glowing "red".....
>
I've searched all over the internet to find out where exactly I should be tapping the "hot" switchable red wiring to in the passenger fuse-box.... So I know I need one of those "add-a-circuit" piggy-back harness but some say use Fuse position #5 or #13; So which is it?!?!
>
I even pulled the gauge cluster out to expose the wire harness/connection on the back, which I am tempted to find the switchable "hot" wire to connect the white wire for daytime use.
>
Help anyone! Thanks.... Maybe someone with a Roush Mustang could take a "peek" behind the gauge to see where Roush tapped the wires to.....

I can't literally be the ONLY ONE installing this gauge in their GT500....
Gotta say a lot of lookers though.....
I tried calling Roush Performance & left voicemails, but no response from them....

Your never a pioneer unless you have the first model and the first aftermarket part. Most tie into the line going from the intake to the fuel pressure regulator. Lots of threads with pics up here. Might not be the exact same gauge but same installation

I tried PM'ing some of the "Roush-charged" Mustang guys w/ a Roush boost gauge here asking to see if any were willing to pull the dash cover & chase the wires to see where the Roush-Industries Techs routed the 4 wires.....
No such luck....

No instructions, from a guess the red positive, black negative, white probably the switching wire that dims gauge and blue accessory 12 volt. Might have the white and blue reversed. One is definitely a signal to turn the light in the gauge on with dash lights.

Since it's a simple gauge the 12v can come from an open slot or accessory in fuse box. For no more then its doing a power point should be easy to access. When you need a positive that is constant even when starting the brake light switch works perfect

Hey thanks for the info I already have. Didn't help at all. What I was looking for was a switched 12v from the ignition to pull off of. Guys around here are real friendly. I was simply asking for a little help. I won't make that mistake again. I apologize I foolishly thought there were friendly helpful people left.

Thinking is why its not hooked up. Diagram above showed pin 9. Fog lights, radio, windshield wipers are all switched 12 volt circuits. 5 Buck test light will do miracles. Check the fuse box, should be an accessory side in there. Haven't messed with mine in a while. If your looking for someone to say blue wire to the green with white stripe good luck.

I'm not great with wiring but I'm not just being lazy just looking for wire colors. None of those wires on that pin light the gauge up. I need a 12v ignition switch source. I'll just continue to try.

My gauge is connected directly to the fuse panel in pass side kick plate. U just need a key on engine off power supply and a ground..its not that hard. There is no boost line like the 03/04 cobra ...boost is seen via the maf sensor...you can tap a hard line off front of lower manifold vaccum port and T it in.

As far as the electrical goes, I ran the wires as follows:

1) black wire to the battery ground
2) blue and red wire twisted together and then ran to the small plug underneath the console for an automatic (I have the 6MT); this is the white wire with blue strip in a grey connector
3) white wire was not used

I found out that the red wire lights up the needle and the blue or white lights up the LEDs for the numbers; so I just tied them both together to have blue all the time. I figured I would have it blue all the time to match my Aeroforce.

So Here I go trying to do this myself [Again]
This time, pics of my progress
...........
...........
I drilled a hole into HVAC duct to prevent "pinching" of the tube & wires

IMG_1741_zpsdedc901d.jpg
"]
IMG_1741_zpsdedc901d.jpg
[/URL]

Then the wires & tubes pulled thru... overview

IMG_1742_zps0f2407e5.jpg
"]
IMG_1742_zps0f2407e5.jpg
[/URL]

Here I can get the gauge to "light up" by just using the light switch & dimmer...

IMG_1753_zps89a1b312.jpg
"]
IMG_1753_zps89a1b312.jpg
[/URL]

Close up of the wiring by simply testing it before any cutting & splicing>
Using Pin#1 for the red & #3 for the black wire
The blue wire into the dimmer wire second from the bottom

IMG_1762_zps814a30c6.jpg
"]
IMG_1762_zps814a30c6.jpg
[/URL]

...........................................
So I'M STUCK, I can wire it to turn on by the light switch itself;
BUT I can't get it to simply light up when I turn the ignition key forward!
>
I have looked at the "link" posted earlier showing someone else's Install: [6th pic down], statement is incorrect. The "ADD-A-LINK" red wire is inserted in possibly fuse position#36 which is the "passive anti-theft system" OR its in position #37/#38????

..........................................
So it leaves me to believe that I will need to wire the red, black & white to the speedo/tach gauge cluster harness & the blue wire to the light switch or dimmer switch

Back to square 1 again!!!!!

Im stuck on this as well...Have not found a good way to get power to the gauge.
I had it hooked up like above and it only works when the headlights are on.

So in the daytime Im left with a blank gauge.
Any other ideas? How does ROUSH perf hook it up form the factory?
All Im trying to do is get white day & Night. So I have left teh blue wire unhooked and wired the red/White wires together.
