Is an auto 5.0 any slower than a manual 5.0 from a roll?

my 2 cents, if your not planning on building a 7, 8 or 9 second car (which most people are not), then MT82 is where its at. Manual trans for a street car is just way more fun, Unless you just cant bang gears for shit.

BTW mod for mod, Ill put my M6 against any A6. Just sayin...

How fun is it to row gears, yet see the other cars tail lights? lmao
I still have my M6 car in the garage, i'm still waiting on Ford to finish building my 14' A6, and the main reason I'm getting rid of the M6 is because it straight up sucks for digs on the streets. Just about any auto car with equal or slightly less power will get out on you, and then you have to pray that you have enough to catch it. Then on top of that, you're walking on eggshells, the transmission is really fragile, and upgrading is a good $5k+. The hell with all that bullsh**.
It'd be interesting to see how the 13+ automatics with sport mode (you can shift the gears yourself) does around turns/road course... wouldn't surprise me if it does just as good as the MT82.

DING DING DING!!! We have a winner!!

My 2009 GT500 also failed from dig racing. The low end torque + manual transmission made 1st and 2nd gear useless. You simply can't put a lot of power down on the street with a manual transmission. Anyone who has built a PD blower car 650+ rwhp, or 750+ turbo car, will tell you that. Even on a prepped track, unless the prep is perfect and tire/suspension dial in, you are not dig racing with the manual. Not consistently, and results are constantly varying.

It's really annoying. Went to the track with spray, and granted i only made one pass, but i ran a 11.5@126... that's pretty sad given the MPH. Should have been a high 10 pass. I'm all about making it simple now, I wish they made autos that are strong and good for drag racing for my 800whp+ honda lol

I was so sick and tired of cars that I destroy on the street (roll racing) either match or beat my 1/8th mile times because no matter what I did....the car wouldn't put the power to the ground.

^ Same here, the funny thing is, all those cars were auto :lol1:
Now with the auto they don't stand a chance from a roll nor from a dig :)

I just can't be proud of something when it takes no skill to do. A 10.99 time slip in an auto would mean nothing to me. Just personal opinion. I don't care if a guy in an auto beats me. He didn't beat me, his car/tuner beat me.

So when you line up with a car that runs 11.2@121, and you obviously lose, do you tell them what i bolded on the above post?

To me you lost, plain and simple. It's not the other car's fault that you want to make it more complicated upon yourself by having a manual transmission.

So you rather run that 11.5@130 on your sig, through your manual, instead of a 10.4@130 through an auto? If so, wow we think completely the oppsite.

But DTR, it is more fun spinning through 1st and 2nd. Oh and getting locked out of 3rd is awesome.

That 11.5@130 was on bald invos first of all. Second of all, yes, I'd rather run an 11.5 in a manual than an 11.0 in the same setup auto. Why can't you understand/accept that people like different things than u? You're one of "those guys". "If you don't agree with me you're wrong" kind of guys.
