real test against 5.0

I ran a pullied, full exhaust, intake 03/04 cobra from a slow roll and pulled him pretty easy in my 12' GT with full exhaust, Boss IM, intake, 91 oct Bama tune.

He was obviously in the wrong gear, bad tune, and couldn't drive. Amidoingitrite 5.0 guys?

5.0 has been around for a few years now but there are still arguments between 5.0 and Terminator owners almost every day. I used to find it amusing but now it just annoys me. I think 2015 5.0 will finally end the arguments who is faster. :beer:

I like both. Some people just don't realize on the street anything can happen and you can beat cars that otherwise should beat you. Some 5oh guys like to discredit the terminator, doesn't mean it can't be beat but it's a benchmark much like C6Z is. I'm glad the new 5.0 is fast, it's a new benchmark and both deserve some credit for being street beasts, but the constant excuses (both sides) are lame.

Now if OP had said he put a bus on him, that would be another story..

It will be funny to see all the butthurt cobra/5.0 owners when full bolt on 2015 gt's are pushing their shit in. Im extremely curious to see if it will give the c7 a good run for its money or even beat it, THEN we get to see a shitstorm on ls1tech:) Not to mention possible butthurt m3/m4 owners once track comparisons are made "but brrooo its still a mustang" "my interior is soooo much better."

OK OK OK gents I just found out that I F%$ked up me and my bestfriend were talking and He told me that we were doing about 55-60, I thought we were going slower bcuz we had slowed down soo much on the FWY. So flame me or whatever for messing up the vital MPH info. :shrug:

On a side note after reading all of these comments I just look at it like this I like both cars, and I give equal respect. The Cobra (my favorite tho) bcuz it was ahead of its time. The 5.0 because a great motor that lives of to bringing back that name. the creature comforts of the 5.0's are what I also am in love with. With my cobra tho, I have more of a toy that still holds its own. At the end of the day we all drive Fords and the S&%t talking should be done on the ricers.

Now that is cleared up is their any more excuses why a 5.0 lost. bad tune? driver mod needed? earth out of rotation?

So I did my X-pipe install with a few friends (Still have a leak on Pass side) after we finished we all went out for a little cruise. My best friend has a 2012 5.0, Boss intake, O/R X, CAI, PYPEs exhaust and a Tune, (1st run) we pull in 3rd and slowly but surely I yank a fender on him, then I have a retard moment :loser: I ATTEMPT to go into 4th and go into 2nd, but i jumped on the clutch ASAP. (2nd run) So we both jump into 3rd again doing 45MPH, rip on it and i get him with that same fender, THIS time I actually grab 4th and pull out to put him at my back bumper, and we let out of it at about 120. Now i got him wanting twin turbo's :rolling: Good bit of fun.

glad someone FINALLY put this to rest under some controlled conditions... jeez I am so sick of people thinking 5.0's will work a pullied terminator...

Shouldn't even have to prove this out on the street, the bottom line is the 5.0 is a heavier car with less power than a pullied full weight terminator coupe. Unless the driver in the terminator is THAT bad, it should never be a problem.

Then on top of that... you coyote boys go throwing blowers on that... cough cough... unforged, high compression ratio, Coyote motor..... and make 600 WHP and think you got something special....

We'll see your scorched cylinder walls and broken connecting rods in the machine shop soon boys... have fun.

ummm, you do know that 2015s are 5.0s also right?
2011-2012= 5.0
2013-2014=5.0 just a little different
2015=5.0 a lot different, but still 5.0.

Rods are cheap and E85 likes compression.

Rods might be cheap... the labor isn't though... and when that broken rod damages that cylinder wall... have fun ordering a new block

*** oh and compression likes E85, not the other way around.

Plenty of 5.0s with over 600 rwhp and some around 700 rwhp. All on stock motor just with a TVS and other blowers.
