Well because 20-22 PSI is way out of the efficiency range of the 2.3 TVS blower even with a port and thats if you can get a belt to stay on. It will drive IATs sky high. Then we try to bandaid it with the 100% methanol injection which acts as a fuel with a cheap unreliable pump. Then add nitrous on top of it to exacerbate the issue.

I think if I wanted to run the kind of power OP is talkng about I would do a few things different.

Either get a bigger blower, run a better fuel/ fuel system, run less boost on the little TVS and make up the power with nitrous.

Best thing is keep it simple. The more components involved is more things that can fail.

well it would be impossible to make the power that he wants with his current fuel setup. i am sure everyone in this forum knows that including him... the tvs probably wont make more than 850rwhp but nitrous could help him get to 1k. with the right fuel system and fuel it could be fine. the blower in the other hand might not last long spinning so hard.

Right, thats kind of my point. The pulley chart shows a little 63mm pulley=17psi. He wants to run 20-22 psi.

The next issue is running the 100% methanol injection. It is kind of a crutch for the IATs, but with the 100% it will be used as a fuel in the tune. 50/50 water/ meth would be a safer combo.

I think a better idea (and the one I'm doing) would be to run the TVS with his current pulley, then run direct port nitrous under the blower. It will give him all the power he is after, not relying on meth, not over taxing the blower, and maintain good street manners while not racing.

Or just go with a bigger blower that can supply the boost he is after without all the heat.

Even with both power adders it probably will stay just under 1000hp, so it probably still doesn't need to be sleeved. I would use the sleeve money on the fuel system or direct port.

Either way I will play it safe & sleeve the block
My car is a street/show car, i like to drive it, I'm not storing barrels of race fuel in my garage & have to run home every time I need to fill up, there is no E85 here or I would run it, my best option is meth injection, Alky Control injection system are the best IMO & are made to run 100% methanol which is also best IMO, thats a whole other debate that goes both ways
I would like to ditch the BAP but don't want to spend the money on a return system, would like a bigger drop in pump which I know is being worked on
The 13, 14 Shelby guys have been porting the TVS & running 20-21lbs no problem, also seen a ported TVS lay down better numbers than a 2.9 whipple, both running 20.5lbs of boost with same bolt ons on same dyno
NOS would really just be for car shows, yeah I would run it on the dyno just to see some big numbers but that's it

Please say nitrous. NOS is a brand...
Also as posted above, why would you waste money on things like sleeves for the block before you even have a fuel system capable of supporting 700rwhp or so.

Just my opinion, but I know personally fuel system is one of the first things in need of upgrading.

Great! Hope it all works out for you. I also hope it's not a moot point due to
a screwed up blower from debris.

Basically a stage 1 kit with 80mm pulley, stock airbox and BAP. Car sees no more than 9.5 psi even on cold days.

Thanks that's what I was thinking. Possibly stage 2 but unsure at this point. Stage 1while safe does make reasonable power.

You never know if people are serious on the Internet or not...

Sorry I didn't make it more obvious, oster. I was being a wise-azz.

OP, not to doubt you, but when I got my 79mm pulley from VMP two years ago it was listed at 10.5-11. I don't think the 75mm was ever listed by Justin at 10.5.

This thread sealed my decision. I'm seriously looking at some Manley rods (definitely), MMR coated pistons (possibly overkill), and OPGs. I find my power level is at the edge of DD tires and any more is a case of diminishing returns. Thoughts?

Look at the VMP forum at the top of this forum page, says 10.5, but I'm sure he meant with stock intake

What if I have a NOS brand kit I was going to put in the car, can I say it then?
My current fuel setup with meth injection will be more than enough, is there better was to do it, sure, but there is different ways to do many things & any of them has pros & cons or can fail

IMO Op gets what he deserves......

He has a boost gauge showing 15 lbs, simply ignores it, and then blames VMP for making to much boost.
No fuel system and still thinks he doesn't need one:shrug:
He compares a coyote boost levels with a trinity:shrug:
Then he calls nitrous NOS :bash:

I'll be... Yep. I see it. I'm not enough of a pro to say that's bad data. But that sounds low from everything I know from using 'em. I'm typing on my tablet and falling asleep. I'll catch up on this tomorrow. Good luck, man.

Maybe but I will do it right the first time. When you build the bottom end with forged rods & pistons the stock sleeves are the weak point. I plan on porting the TVS & running 20-22lbs of boost with it & cams. Plus running a Alky Control 100% methanol injection system. So the power should be up there. Might even throw some NOS after the build just to she want she will put down.

If this was referring to a kit you already have then you worded it wrong. Not trying to nit pick it just looks incorrect. Anyways good luck with the build.

Show me where I blamed anyone, simply stated it does say the 75mm pulley makes 10.5lbs but like I said I know that was meant to be with stock intake, I have CAI/VMP elbow & tune with different can timing, I know why it make 15lbs of boost, read everything g before you post please
