They're nice and handle well. However, they are the heaviest of the C6's. If you can swing it, just buy a slightly older C6Z….I PROMISE you won't regret it!

This. Just bought a LeMans blue Z and it made 484rwhp with a ported intake manifold, ported throttle body and a CAI.

Things a monster. Top end power is endless

This all day.

You can worry about the valve issues on the LS7 but only a hand full of people have had the problem. Most of them where road raced cars from what I have read. It also sounds like most of them where 06/07 models. The total number seems to be less than 1%.

I am not too worried.

Funny thread. OP, I'd Get a Z if you can swing it.

I have a question for the guys saying get a ls3 over a Z06. Would you also take a boss over the gt500?

Boosting an LS7 is like pissing in the wind and seeing if it sprays in your face or not. Some take it and some don't. If I had a choice I would pick the 2013 GS LS3 Vette hands down. Supercharger/meth injection, headers/exhaust, clutch and tune. Will waste any Z06 and it will be much more reliable.

I would take a boss over a gt500 without thinking twice.

2Kblack...I don't think that is a fair comparison as a Z06 is not ridiculously over powered for its chassis and still well balanced, now a 13/14 GT500 on the other hand........

I don't think I would but you are asking the wrong person that question lol....

Trust, I know you don't really care for the Vette but I'm sure you see what I'm getting at? The Gt500 is put on a pedestal because it's the top tier Stang? Now I'm supposed to expect a bunch of people that take pride in having the top tier model to pick a lesser tier model over the top tier?

I understand your point...and I am glad my vette hate is well documented lol

One of my fav cars to drive, my buddy has the 2013 GS blk on blk. So SINISTER looking. His is an auto and its still a blast to drive. I just drove his C7 as well, while the overall ride is better in the C7, I fit much better in the C6 so for MY money I would look for a C6 GS to be honest until GM addresses the seat issue in the C7. I have read on the Corvette forum how many guys are upset at the seats just being too tight if you aren't < 180 lbs.

Thanks for the feedback. I am considering a number of different options on all ends of the spectrum. Winter is making me impatient!

I'd rather have a Grand Sport than a Z06. I have more faith in the LS3's durability.

That's the feedback I am hearing too.

Also, on the C6Z, you should factor in a $2K valve/head job into the price due to the well documented issue with the LS7 heads.

Best bet is to go LS3 with the Z06 body style which is the Grand Sport model and throw on a blower :burnout:

Depends on goals and needs. The GS offers looks, the suspension, brakes, and potential. It's also available with Trans choices and body styles of coupe and vert. A blown ls3 GS vert would be pretty killer.

If you want to go fast and keep it simple and like a fixed roof; the z06 is the better buy. No fuss speed with no wrenches turned. Upgrade the valvetrain and never worry, or toss a cam and make 600whp n/a. It's not like you 'need' to boost them unless you really get into some serious racing or dick measuring. At that point they become quite the expensive drag car and a lot of liability with the thin cylinder walls.

You need to pick a goal before you pick the car IMO.

Mt fiancé had a GS Coupe. Good car, could have definitely used a few extra HP though. Not that it was slow by any means. She could hang right in there with the Z06 in the local Corvette Club with it while Auto Crossing.
