Not sure why all this debate about HP and weight when 99% of the these cars will never be ran to their potential by the owners.

Inferior?? Yup cause the solid axle shelby is light years ahead of this car.

And you have nerve to talk about other people.

The GT500 is no LaFerrari

You're right. Its a damn FORD!! And ford my friend is the same as the other big two from America.

American cars is general dont have a great reputation for quality. Only up until recently have we started to catch up.

Im sure if you ask someone in Japan the difference between the 3 they would likely say they're all american pos's.

I disagree, I've never had issues with Ford quality, the fit and finish on all of my cars has been very good. As far as Japan, well like they haven't had any issues recently, well maybe we could go to Korea and Hyundai, uh no. Europe, well Europe is in a little different category. German car makers for instance are very OCD, in fact after DBenz bought Chrysler you would have thought it would have upped their quality as much as being owned by Fiat and the Federal Govt loans should help considerably with their R&D. We shall see where all three are in 5-10 years with their cars and who stays in the game or who drops out again.

I have had a 92', 95', 00', and a 05' Fords. I'm not saying Ford bats .500, but for me they have been in good shape when I bought them new, no real problems while I owned them, I enjoyed them and got my money out of them. My wife has had good luck with Toyotas, but you know their story, she prefers Nissans and I think they suck, but its her car.

I like the heritage of Ford, Shelby, and SVT. I can remember reading articles about SVT in the mid 90's and I was always worried Ford would kill them off. Obviously they did not and they have continued to unleash and expand into other models. I am tempted to do TB and other "light" mods, but I will be honest, 662HP is a lot. It is the fastest car I have ever owned and in So Cal, there is not a lot of opportunity to use it. I have people ask what the power is like, and honestly its just plain silly.

The only real GM car that caught my eye was the Pontiac WS6, I liked the look and it was a wicked Factory car. I'm pretty sure we all have a Vette model we would like to own. However, beyond that, GM and Chrysler cars really don't catch my eye. I am not butt hurt by the 700 HP, no more than I am by the Z28. I make it a point to never tell another man how to mix his liquor or spend his money, so if those cars float your boat, have at it. All I am saying is 50 years of continuos production demands some respect.
