So im in need for new tires, im stuck between the Toyo R888 and Nitto NT05 both have great reviews both seem like awesome tires. I just want to see what you guys and girls have to say. Please help!!
I just drove from Los Angeles to Vancouver British Columbia, 1290 miles, in 2 days on R888's. I'm running 2.4 degrees of front camber and I cannot detect any noticeable wear. I was taking turns in the mountains marked 50 at 115, that's why they are on a DD haha.
Go with the R888. I've heard many more good things about them than NT05. My only complaint is they are a little loud on non freshly paved asphalt or any concrete highway. I do have full Delrin bushings and tubular suspension though.
I've had the nt05's and they are a good tire but my cousin put r888's on his 04 cobra and he says the r888's provide traction for him now. He's had my nitto 315 dr's on the back of his term and he liked the r888's better. I'd go with the r888's.
The e/t street drag radial. The hoosier drag radials are the stickiest drag radial there is, but only last 3000 mi. If your 90% drag strip, one of those two.
R888's are a road racing tire and compound.. Get a DR..
People are starting to use the R888's at the track and then wonder why they can't 60ft lol.. They're very good for street pulls (rolls) and cornering etc.. Dig's.. Not so much.. Will they work? Yea but not that well.
I have NT05 happy with them, I don't race at every traffic light, R888 are a very good, but should be on all four corners its a road course intended tire.
I'm a NITTO guy but I've noticed latley they seem to be limiting their sizes, I heard another company has purchased them and is influencing their marketing to (I would say) their detriment.
I run the NT05's and love them. Provided I went from some shitty sumittomos to these, they are super sticky, and very compliant on back roads and cornering. Paired with Nitto NT555's up front. 295 out back, 275 up front.
