I'm looking to switch to a slot style maf in the near future. My car will make between 550 and 600 rwhp. Will a stock 05+ slot maf in a 110mm housing support that much power? According to vmp it will be right on the edge which I don't want to be. However lethal performance says a gt500 maf (same as stock 05+ maf) will support 800rwhp in a 4" tube. That's a big difference. My other option is the vmp3500 in a 4.25 Id tube which I know will work but it is the more expensive option.

I have a GT500 slot sensor (05 - 10) in a 123 mm (4.8") tube if I remember right. It's the Whipple Crusher intake. I make low 700s whp around high 900 MAF counts. Idle and low end is great too. I'd go that route instead of the GT sensor which sounds much more limiting.
I run a 05 crown Vic Maf in my 123 maf housing and 5inch intake. I made 837/741 but it was close to maxed.
