Well, it's been a while since I have had any runs worth mentioning but today while going to my girlfriend's, I came across a really clean 03/04. It is always a treat seeing one as they are very scarce out in the wild.

I was not expecting my car to do well at all since I figured the cobra had to be at least pulleyed/supporting mods as there are virtually even less stock cobras, car definitely had at least an exhaust. My car is a 14 camaro ss/1le with a cold air intake.

On to the runs, we tried to line up and get an even hit but it seemed hard to do. First actual run, I won, I tried to honk it off to make it an even start but it seemed that I ended up getting the hit, not sure if the guy spun, was in the right gear or if he missed a gear but i was able to get a couple of cars out in front by shut down.

Second run, there was no honks, he took the hit (iirc) and was able to creep up ahead, by the time I shut down he was about a car ahead.

Runs seemed to be 50-55 to about 120 on both, it seemed like he had slightly more mph on me but then again there was no runs where we had an even hit. I was/am very happy with the results as this was my first run against a cobra in this camaro.

Here is a picture of the car I was able to snap before we parted ways, hopefully the owner is a memeber here and chimes in.

Good kill op.

EDIT: I don't know why people are already saying this could get interesting? It's a race on the street, op already said non of the runs were a even clean hit. I'm sure if I was behind the seat, I'd manage to mess something up and lose to a Prius.

It shouldnt be too bad, I tried to be as accurate as possible. Hopefully the owner of the cobra is here on SVTP.

Thanks man, yeah runs werent really clean so therefore not a good comparo but was still fun.

Was this in San Antonio Texas???

If so Lobra has a redfire with black wheels.

I can neither comfirm nor denny, I always run in Mexico! But that would be awesome if it had been an SVTP member. If it was lobra, then he looked real young, not what I would envision.

Car was super clean and well take care of. Guy looked hispanic and real young.

Yay, Mexico. That's what I meant.

It probably was him Then. He is a short Hispanic guy. Always smiling.

Edit: It was him.

I just sent him a message and told him about this thread. I am sure he will pop in here.

How is your 1LE compared to just a stock SS, I bet those gears wake up the car up specially in the lower gears. Sounds like some good runs!

oh snap small world! lol
Matt just messaged me on FB about it and i saw the link in the PM. That was us! The description is accurate, it was hard to hear the honks between both exhausts and so we did the best and got a few runs in. your car looks sick and sounds really good. wife said you had a really nice SS when we parted ways. i missed gear and rolled into 5th on he first one ...i was like "nooooooo monica!!" turns out 6th to 5th doesn't do much lol

i've seen you before in my accord around the area but since i hardly drive mine i was surprised when i came up behind you finally lol. i need to install my steggy already, BAP, JLT CAI, and get a retune. that pretty much motivated me yesterday since i hardly take her out much less run with a new SS. we talked about it yesterday afterwards and i think i'm going to keep it instead of selling for a 911 and either finally do stogie or spend a lil more and add a whipple. i didn't realize you were around this area so much, we should get another run sometime!

good runs - video next time!

True that. I have been out of the game for so long that I forgot to have the gear ready. I will try to set up something with the guy again, maybe we can get some clean runs on video.

The 1le feels peppier compared to the regular SS. Where the car really shines though, is in how well it is connected to the road. They have 3.90s as opposed to 3.45s on the regular SS.

Haha, small world indeed!

Good stuff, figured something happened on the first one! Car looked super clean, still to this day, I break my neck looking at them out on the road. I knew I would get pulled but thought "**** it, might as well pop my cherry"... Lol.

I would definitely keep it man, looks pristine, definitely put on the extra mods, makes me want to do more to mine too. I currently have a CAI on it and have a ported TB waiting to be installed, I have just been lazy and have not installed it yet. I think you just gave me motivation as well. Cant wait to do headers and a tune sometime soon, should get much peppier then.

We could most definitely get together soon and get a couple of friendly/clean runs. Im sure you will pull me pretty good but it will still be fun. I will PM you my info.

Again, thanks for the runs, it made my day.

So what's done to the Cobra, Lobra?
2.76 up top, previous owner claims eaton is ported (no idea), 4# on bottom, afco h/e with head cooling mod, 4 idlers with an aux, exhaust , and a tune. owner gave me a sheet with 452hp on a dyne but still no idea as i have not taken it to a dyno. i have all the other stuff i still need to install but got lazy. this def. motivated me to get my ass moving.

i wasn't sure how i would do against a 14' as i haven;t had the chance. as soon as we parted like 10 mins later a new blue vette rolled by and revved at us. like nah son my eaton is hot lol.
oh yeah i forgot about my accufab, its attached to the steggy in the box so i need to drop that in too. same boat as you just being lazy and all, but i def. need to get moving. that was a fun run, do you install your own stuff or just going to take it somewhere and have it done?

Your car definitely screamed, the blower was loud.

I try to install simple stuff, like minor bolt ons, for real upgrades, I would hit up a shop.
