Probably an SR20 Swap and most likely would eat up your 5.0

If it is a B13, it could be a SER, which already has a SR20. I transplanted a Avenir / Bluebird SS motor into mine and lots of guys use the Pulsar N14 GTi-R engine as well. The B13 is crazy light (no power door locks or power windows, factory Recaros) and they make some decent suspension for them.

I ran 10psi out of a T28 (T-too small turbo) and with stock internals on street tires the car would trap 104mph at the track with an easy launch. On the street, at 12psi the car would hurt some feelings, lol.

FWD cars suck on the street, race from a dig and take his lunch $$.
I agree, DO NOT race him from a roll if he is well modded, it could be humiliating being beaten by a $1500 car.

To those not in the know...the SR20DET is the "little brother" to the GTRs RB26 performance-wise, often preferred over the larger displacement RB25. These motors will handle 450-500hp without any internal mods other than head studs.

Props to him for having the balls to challenge a Coyote car. He is either really that fast, really over confident, really ignorant about the new 5.0, or any combination of these. It will be a cool race, just don't run him on a road course.

Yeah that's what I was afraid of. Oh well, when I get my car back from ford I'm definitely going to tell the guy to go to the track with me to settle it. This kid is young, I really am not certain that he has the money to make it a 450-500 hp car because Im not under the impression that he makes a ton of money. Who knows obviously, throwing darts here, but I'm just as curious about the outcome and I just want to run to see if he's bluffing or if he really built a stout car, even through it's still a sentra.

Second the 14psi not so beefy .
I run 23 on pump gas, wastegate spring is a 21pounder for a future e85 setup.

Like Everyone has said Just line them up and race I have ran cars that are faster than mine just for the thrill And I'm not to sure about these cars either but I have ran my buddies Hatchback Honda with a B20 on 10 pounds of boost He said it makes around 300 wheel and weighs 2700 pounds. When we ran from a dig he only put half a car on me by 110-120ish and he should of dragged me but driver is key as well with these cars.

That was some good info there. Thanks for sharing all that. I know little about those engines, however, I came across a turbo B13 once about 15+ years ago and that little car was so damn quick. My 240SX at the time would tear most of them up, but he let me sitting like I wasn't even trying. Came across a turbo 240SX once too, but it didn't seem near as quick as the B13

Find out where he lives, break into his garage and find what he has under the hood
Exactly, make sure Dom isn't following you, it'd be stupid getting caught trying to find out what the other guy runs even if it's just 3 spoon engines...

Lol, anyways, run'em. And since you've been upront with your mods, insist on a race from a dig.

14psi on a Disco Potato SR20 powered B13 car will be more than enough to handle his Coyote, unfortunately.

The psi is not as relevant as the turbo that's hanging off the exhaust manifold.

Also, people lie about their boost levels all the time to sandbag you. I ran a GSR turbo Civic one time that swore up and down he was only running 6 lbs and I was like that is not even remotely enough. Sure enough, he turned it up to the moon to hang with my STi. I also sandbagged a bit and said I was running 18psi on the pump gas tune but I had a 50/50 mix in the car and 26psi at the ready. What a bunch of liars. ;-)

14psi from a pressumably tiny turbo on a tiny engine is far from "beefy". Most turbo 4 bangers this day and age run that if not more straight from the factory. I know my buddy's '02 WRX (not even the STi) ran 14-15 stock and that thing barely pushed 150rwhp.

Big boys run 25+ psi on those types of engines, and that's really when you have to start worrying.

14psi on a 1.6L even in a Sentra I bet is no more than a 14 second car.

Now throw that same 14psi on a modern day V8 (like the Coyote or LS engine) and you've got a monster pushing 7-800rwhp. That's beefy.

I say 30 days to post race results with video or OP get's a vacation. I don't mind the bench racing threads - if they are eventually paid off with an actual race with video - it's the bench racing bs that never turns into an actual race that pisses me off.

...I'll go race a GT500 right now if I got a call to do so, knowing good and well I'm toast.

You never know who you're racing. I came within 1/100th of a second of beating a 550whp 09' GT500 (90 degree day) at AAA Speedway. You just never know.

Even if that thing has a mod list longer than a 1040EZ form, he still drives away in a Sentra:D

And yet the guy in the Sentra has the girlfriend and the OP doesn't.

If you actually do OP, my mistake.

That argument is one of the dumbest things somebody can say and inevitably follows someone getting their ass handed to them, "well he's driving a..." So freaking what?! Do you have any idea how many people say that about our blue collar Mustangs? I remember being young and dumb and saying something like that about a guy's clapped-out rust bucket Fox body and my buddy with a Viper saying "uhhh, you drive a Subaru dickhead." Touche'

You seem upset. Would you like to talk about it?

Bro, you got 400HP vs a car that would take a lot of work to equal that and not launch well with front wheel drive. Years back my Mach 1 took down a "fully built" turbo eclipse pushing 20 PSI. You're car is faster than my Mach 1 was. If he doesn't have slicks, a cage, and is not running E85 for super big PSI (which we know he's not), just go smash him. If he beats you and its not due to your lack of driving, he deserves to win. One car will be faster than the other no matter how much research and conversing you do online. Get some drag radials and go grease him. If you lose, your 5.0 can easily be modded to make over 100HP more and you can go rematch him.

Guys! I'm going to run him. Seriously. I will let him know a day to go to my local track and duke it out. My car is at ford right now getting the trans/slave cylinder looked at along with checking possible brake bias in my passenger caliper and hood corrosion. I hope I get it back before 30 days because I like this forum. I didn't mean to start a crazy thing here I just wanted to start a thread with people's experiences and conversation like that. I didn't want to post it in the 2011-2014 thread cause I thought I was going to get told to post it in kill stories or something. Again, I'm going to race this guy when I get my car back from ford!

He's probably got an SR20 motor in his car. I had a 1990 240sx with a SR20 swap in it. On 10lbs (with the stock T25 turbo) I ran 13.7. Push that stock T25 turbo up to 14lbs and guys run high 12's-low 13's. Now that's in 240sx which is about 200lbs heavier than that sentra. There's no telling what turbo he has on his car. If he has a T28 on 14lbs I think you're gonna lose. Good luck on the race.
