This rider did not care about his passenger. If he did she would have the correct gear on. When I had my bike if my wife wanted to ride pillion I made her wear pretty much full gear (gloves boots jacket etc) If not I wouldn't take her.

I bet if the passenger had riding boots on her foot would still be attached.

That girl was a willing participant and it ended very badly for her. She is just as responsible unless this was the first time she was involved in a street stunt. Either way she can't walk away from that fact, literally.

I drive 100K miles/year. Al I see is 'Watch out for motorcycles' in one form or another.

Seems like at least a couple of times every week anymore when I'm sitting in traffic during rush hour, these clowns come riding up the centerline between the two lanes of traffic, weaving in and out because they don't want to wait.

Fine. All I ask is that when they do get smashed, have the courtesy to slide of the road into a ditch so I can get by and be on my way...

That leg/ankle injury is bad. I had a similar bike wreck and injury. Mine was from the car turning into me while I was riding in my lane. "Did you not see us coming". Has got to be one of the dumbest things he could have said.
Yeah, looks like that's going to be a long process with physical therapy and pain for that girl. She can thank her idiotic boyfriend for that.
As for the quote,....if he had asked me that, I would replied, "Of course I saw you coming, you went through the red light asshole!"

Idiots....

This is exactly why I will never ride in groups. Seen too many videos like these. Also, I don't see proper gear.

If she didn't know she was the backpack on a dumbass then I feel sorry. But I bet she knew so I don't feel sorry for her!

I'd have said "yes, I saw you coming but you had a redlight so I win!"

Well there goes any thought of wanting a bike, not even close to worth it IMO.

How the **** does this video stop you from wanting a bike? Your statement basically says "I'm as dumb as this guy, and would do dumb shit with zero self control"

What this video should prove to you is that if you're an imbecile don't ride a motorcycle. If you're a responsible adult, you shouldn't fear owning a bike. Does bad shit still happening because of other people? Sure, could a lot of the injuries in this video have been prevented with proper gear? Yes.

Gross. I see assclowns like this all the time on the road where I commute. I honestly want to run over every dickhead doing a wheelie on the highway and the ones trying to tape them. Saw one dude going the opposite way stand up on his seat going down a seriously bumpy highway. They obviously aren't the smartest toolbags in the shed.

That was not the bike, that was a dumb-ass group of riders. Poor choices all around, among the bikers.

And that's the rel tragedy here: the driver of that car is going to see those kids go over the roof of his car for the rest of his life. The dumbasses on the bike didn't just hurt themselves, they served up a nightmare for life for the poor guy who was just driving to work.

Just a thought, maybe he was more focused on the fact that whether it was the bikers fault or not, the results of a car vs bike interaction turned him off at the very idea of stepping foot on a bike.

I get tired of hearing this "proper gear" online chest thumping.

You seriously get dressed in leathers, head to toe every time you ride?

I've not seen anyone dressed like that in at least 3 summers.

Jeans, Jacket, helmet and gloves? Sure, I see that. Full leathers and MX style boots? Never.

Depending on what hit her ankle a MX boot may not have even saved her.

Neither looked like they got much Roadrash and both where wearing helmets.

If you want to talk safety, give up on the motogp leathers and just try and get people in helmets with proper eyepro.

How exactly does one's ankle rip apart just from impacting the ground?

It didn't look like her ankle was caught on anything and therefore ripped off

Any joint can easily be dislocated with enough impact. Her foot probably dislocated from her ankle on impact with the ground.
These guys need an attitude adjustment from a judge with their idiotic antics in busy traffic. Expecting right of way traffic to stop for them is ridiculous.
