Good looking car!

I like the Gen V's....the ONLY downside is the clamshell hood. Haha I would hate that thing.

Hate it? I cant get enough of it ;)

If you wanted to do something serious it would need to come off, which is what they do when they pull motors, heads/cam, etc. No real issue with access for bolt-ons.

I've just never liked the concept of it. I didn't like the concept of the reverse clam shell on the FGT either.

I just did a water pump with clamshell on. Did suck

You're a champ.

So good! Is that wheel hop @1:16 in the video? If so, looks like Full Tilt Boogie racing needs to make some viper bushings lol
It is, thats why you hear me lift for a second to get her settled down. It's just the tires, these R compound pirellis aren't for straightline, these are road racing tires. Very stiff sidewall and love to transmit shock through the driveline instead of absorbing some of the impulse.

Interesting. What tires will you be going with after the stock ones?

I track these cars so I cant be on a drag radial, I will be going full R888 toyos all around when these Corsas have had it. I love the R888s on my last car, absolutely best performance tire I've ever put on a car. May even look into the new R888R

That's awesome. I have R888 all around on my cobra and love them as well.

Same set up planned for this one like your last one? Any benefit with the X ECU in the Fifth Gen?

So in a few days when the last of the bits come in it will be the same setup I had in the last car (full bolt on). There is no "X" ecu for these cars as they never made an ACR-X in the Gen 5 production run. I'm running an Arrow ECU, which, does exactly what the ACRX ecu did (tuned by the same oem powertrain engineers).

In this car the goal is to get as far into the 9s as possible all motor, while still maintaining oem driveability and reliability. Pump gas, full weight, car still set up and aligned for road racing, just drive to the track, bolt on some drag radials and have at it. I did this with the mild bolt on gen 3 and went mid 11s (on 10 year old run-flats no less), on the gen 4 the car was full bolt-on on a 19" drag radial and went mid 10s. The dream would be to lop another second off and go mid 9s, but that is a very very ambitious goal. I think the reality will be somewhere in the upper 9s (a 9.7x would be great). To do this I will most likely do the arrow heads/cam stroker. This, again, is a setup meant for road racing and has oem driveability. It is by all intesive purposes a "mild" setup, but should still be good for 700ish whp on pump 93. That should put the car into the 9s.
