Finally finished up all my video's from the 2017 HRPT. One for each of the seven days! Hope you enjoy them, it was a heck of a trip!
Everyone always told me if you do it once, be ready to be hooked. It's 100% true. If I had to skip every over event during the year to long haul, I would. Counting the days until next year!Great vids! I keep telling myself I need to do the long haul at least once
Wow, well done. That's got to be a blast

how were the temps. We did the long haul in 16. It was hot. But it was also a blast.
Hot as hell. Kansas was kinda breezy, so it wasn't too bad. Newton was brutal windy, unpleasant windy for a mountain guy! It was so windy the little plates they put your burgers and fries in wouldn't stay on the table with the burger and fries in them!! Davenport wasn't bad because there was plenty of shade. Champaign was the worst! We got stuck in a little town for over an hour on the way in. In 90 degree weather and in a stick shift car, even the ac becomes over powered after a while from all the heat from the engine and tranny, plus the other cars in front and behind you. We literally got to the event, stamped our card, got our magnets and headed for the hotel pool and the cold beer cooler. The rest of the days were tolerable except for Bowling Green, at least two of us in the group about had heat strokes there, of course at that point 8+ days of knocking down a 12 pack or more each night didn't help the hydration situation!!!
Someday...I will do this in my '66 with no A/C.
I hear ya. That just shows how much I'd like to do the tour. I could take my '14 GT but it wouldn't be nearly as much "fun".
Don't worry about taking a new car. Alot of people complain about it but its all about the tour and the people and just doing it! There are tons of new cars. Me and my buddy were both in "newer" stuff with two 05 Mustangs, but you know what, they break down to! We spent an hour on the side of the road with his 05 chasing a blown fuse! And the worst part is, when the new stuff breaks down road side fixes are hard to do! You break down in an old car you check for fuel and spark! Gotta be one of a half a dozen things! Bottom line, enjoy the tour, whatever car you can do it in!Someday...I will do this in my '66 with no A/C.
It was! Thanks! Thanks for posting those great videos. What a blast the Tour must have been.
I wouldn't. I felt bad for those guys in the classic muscle no ac, 100+ degrees and lines everywhere, while I'm sitting in my late model car having to turn the ac down.
