Too bad Ford couldnt make shit simple and put the 13/14 GT500 motor into the S550/GT350 platform because the car itself is the best looking car they've made since the 03/04 Cobra but the motor is looking alittle bit iffy now that people have owned them for a bit. Tons of them are burning alot of oil and i feel like alot of people are trading them in because of that. You buy a $60-80k Mustang it burns oil like a 30 year old clunker right off the showroom floor.

I would go for the GT500. You just cant beat that torque and power.

Go with the GT500. I just sold my Terminator with 600 RWHP. (Was best one I have built) Got a 2012 GT500 (Silver) and absolutely love it. Handles like dream has nice luxuries and of course the torque I crave. Relatively inexpensive upgrades all over.

Car handles on the track surprisingly well for the weight. Don’t believe you could be disappointed with either. However, GT500 is the way to go.

I've driven a handful of GT500's and a couple of GT350's. I'll be completely honest. The GT500's have always left me wondering WTF the big damn deal is. Yeah, they're torquey, yeah, they're powerful, but they just feel...soft. The GT350's feel more responsive and actually feel more powerful. Whether or not they're *actually* faster, I don't care. They're more fun to drive, IMO.

I'll agree to a point. I'm assuming you're more of a handling/road course guy? I just did my first event and I can see the addiction but at heart I'm a street/strip guy and most are comparatively.
You're right on all accounts. The difference is the 350 are factory tuned to 8.5/10 while the 500s are 6/10, much like Terminators were.
Meaning add gears/drag radials/tune to a GT500, not to mention bolt ons that get you real power (not like 350 bolt ons), and quickly you have a 750rwhp ride that can kill it or still be a docile cruiser/DD.
I'm waiting for the 350 package with at least 200 more hp.
Or I'm just buying a base 350 and sending it to Injected for a TT/flex fuel combo :)

Um... No.

No, they dont.

Sounds like you havent actually driven a Trinity. Maybe you drove some 07-09s or some 10-12s?

Power wise, comparing the 350 to the Trinity is like comparing a 01 Cobra to an 03 Cobra.

Yep I've had '93, '01, '04' '14 snakes. I'm an OG and I concur :)
The Trinity on stock tires will spin for days while the 350 hooks on its badass stock rubber, only difference.
Stock tire the 350 hooks better than any listed above and that does change perception to some.

This. My V blows the doors off my old 01 Cobra but man do I miss driving that Cobra. I prefer to be connected to the car.

That and I think the 350's look a lot better. Ford nailed the styling of that car. If you want more power toss a Procharger on it. Apparently they make a nice kit for that car.

if I had the coin for a 350 plus modding with forced induction I'd just be viper shopping and be done with it. For how much cash you would be into the gt350, plus your time, you could have bought the sneakysnakes guys gen 4 viper.

Not to hijack your thread but I'm in a very similar situation, I'm looking at getting rid of my 2014 GT and replacing it with a GT500 or a GT350. I'm hopefully going to drive both and see which one I like more.

I'm more of a street/strip guy than a track guy and the GT500 has been my attainable dream car since they came out in 07 so I am leaning towards that but figured I'd give the 350 a look as well.

I am going to say that if you are "wanting a little more" (especially being a strip guy) deep down you are looking for more power. It is easy to get used to what we have and want more. Honestly, the 350 won't pack much more of a bunch than your bolt on 5.0 does. I would get the gt500. It's an excellent platform to make as much power as you want, and it is ridiculously comfortable.

Side note: what do you do for work, and are they hiring? Lol.

Since you will own a boosted TT Cobra....go NA GT350 for a more reliable/simple DD car. Yes, a factory supercharged car can be reliable. But for a DD I don't want to mess with it.

Cobra can be your straight line torque monster and the 350 can let you hit some turns. Win Win.

Hell the Cobra can be made to handle damn well but it suffers in the DD department if you are going balls out TT on it.

Split the child and just get a S550 with some nice coil overs and a giant blower? When you pop the trans upgrade to a T56 Magnum?

FIFY.

And the GT500 is a decent handling car. Is it razor sharp like a GT350R? No. But some of you guys act like GT500's have to come to complete stop to make a turn.

Daaam bro! Went full savage with the 94 to 03 analogy! Lololol

And truth about the Trinity handling, its not a 350, but its pretty decent for what it is.

Huh? The GT500 motor (all of them) are old tech and fall short (very) of the newer Coyote-gen motors.

Would be an absolute sin to put the trinity in an S550.

I LOL'd at this!!

Wow.

Excellent way to look at it. Agree 100%.

OP..... End of the day it all depends on what you want out of the car. If its purely straight line speed, save yourself some money and buy a 2017 6r80 GT for ~27k brand new. Add your choice of $8k forced induction and go run 9s all day and make all GT350s AND most GT500's look stupid at the strip.

My $.02.

That is a truth. Hard to beat a blown auto coyote.

I vote for the GT350, but are the prices really that similar in the used market? I thought the GT350s have fetch $10k more over the trinity GT500.
