There has been a ton of this lately.
Start a new one, and reference the old via copy and paste. I’ve been lenient on this, but will start giving warnings.
Thanks,
Me

Yeah, had a few 10 year old bumped lately. Just a little reminder for the newbs who join via google search, some seasoned members too.
LL would’ve gave them 3 points.
Fair enough. Is LL still around?

I'm curious why the preference for linking old threads vs adding to them? I'm on other forums where they hate making new threads when there are relevant ones that can be added to.

Yea, I gotta ask the same question.

Is this a rule because it's a rule? School me.

Same here. Serious question. I'm sure there's a good reason...I'd just like to know what it is.

Does this count as bumping an old thread because the OP is old, or...?

Missed these. The reason being tech changes. Do you want to read through 1-8 pages of older stuff? It can get confusing.
Also, you get the “what ever happened.”
Last, it’s a site rule, and new threads are encouraged.

Bumping a tech thread that moves the ball forward is different than bumping a 5 year old car for sale thread, just thinkin out loud here. Although, I have seen many more of the latter than the former to be honest.

Although, just when you think a mod is gonna drop the hammer, the OP will come back with a "it's still available" LOL.
