Why..... Why would you do that??

Because I don’t live on a farm. I’d rather have a badass tarmac based throphy truck that gets flogged on the daily.

How many peoples trucks here go off road on the regular? 1%? Oh it’s a work truck? So it goes down a gravel service road or turns around in high grass sometimes.

Yeah pass.

You like option A , I’ll take option B.

See above lol. Mine won’t get a Florida Georgia Line song played in it either

Mine won’t either. But I prefer my truck with small wheels and MTs or ATs.

Its all good. We all got our preferences.

I do think 20s and roadcourse tires are a waste on a truck designed for off road.

I’m having a hard time telling the difference. But is that thing in Liquid Blue or Lightning Blue? If it is liquid, Ford needs to be punched in the face. Stop showing off cars in that color that won’t come in it!

And Ford is ****ing up with names again. Sure can’t wait for that Mach1 or Taurus GT500KR.

I do agree with you and @DriftwoodSVT about the name of the Ranger tho.
Pretty lazy if it is called a Raptor over here.

So long as people call them Rangers, not Raptors, I'll be fine with it.

Aside from the rear coil-over suspension, I don't see much new that the real Raptor doesn't have.

Not sure most people would even realize the difference either way. Only the true enthusiasts. I am willing to bet the Ranger will attract more non-enthusiasts and they will buy it only because it looks cool and it’s “cheaper” than the F150

Liquid colors are hot right now. Just like my car, these “sporty” blue colors are limited in numbers too. I think these blues are the lowest produced of any other color. It grabs your attention as a result.

I get that. But every FP vehicle debuted in Liquid Blue and only the GT got it. If ford would have given me the option for Liquid Blue that is how I would have ordered it. If they can charge &2k for stickers they could have surely had a $2k option for liquid.

Trophy truck? Where? I dont live on a farm either lol, just makes no sense to have a squishy taller offroad truck on roadcourse tires but I guess its a free country. People who buy Raptors and dont go offroad are absolute posers.

Well I know you are catching a lot of heat but I like the looks of it. Makes it look nice and mean. But then again I'm not an off road type of guy and know very little about the vehicles for it. I get why the purists are upset though. I imagine it's like seeing a Mustang with those wheels that has too much camber.

Alright I have some numbers to chew on.

I stole this entirely from Jalopnik
Length: Big raptor : 231.9" Lil raptor: 212.5"
Width: BR: 86.3" LR:85.6" (within an inch?!)
Height: BR: 78.5" LR: 73.7"

Shocks: BR: 3" diameter LR: 1.8" (that seems significant)
Tires: BR: 315/70 17 LR:285/70 17

Ground clearance: BR:11.5" LR:11.1"
Approach angle: BR: 30.2 degrees LR:32.5 degrees
Departure: BR: 23 LR:24
Breakover: BR: 21.8 LR:24

Guys this looks like a pretty impressive truck. I didn't compare powertrains because we likely won't see a 210hp diesel if it shows up. The biggest difference for performance is the shock diameter, that i can tell but we also don't know the weight. Also, the little raptor comes with a watts link and I don't believe the big one does.

In the slow stuff the small raptor should had an advantage to the big raptor. The diameter of the tires are about an inch apart. I think the larger tire, longer wheelbase and shocks of the big raptor will have an advantage on the fast stuff.

If you are buying a race car then yea, performance cars can still be appreciated for their intended use on the street, a raptor... No

I would appreciate a Raptor for the smooth ride it provides with all the potholes we have around here.

Autoblog has the track width listed as 67.3" ---https://www.autoblog.com/2018/02/07/new-ford-ranger-raptor-is-a-small-scale-version-of-the-hopped-up/

85.6" seems a stretch...
Motortrend lists the width of the regular ranger at 73". So I can't imagine it's actually narrower than the regular truck.

It's probably about 77" wide, as that's how wide the ZR2 is.

Cars guide of Australia says it's 2180mm wide, which puts it at nearly 86".

We will have to wait until Ford puts out measurements.

If it has the same 13" of travel and the 3.0 body shock that will be impressive, even from a built truck's perspective. Not totally excited on the watts link but I will wait to judge that. It will absolutely be faster than the "real raptor" where it counts
