What tires are you running?

Grattan looks like it's a track that keeps you on your toes all the time.

I will be running 305 Pirellis this year. Grattan can definitely deliver some "pucker" moments. There were quite a few in the video haha

Why didn't you go for an adjustable sway bar?
Because it's difficult to know how stiff an aftermarket sway bar is relative to the stock bar. Even in it's lowest setting, it may be stiffer than what came on my car. When you consider how everything aftermarket is stiffer/harder/etc. To me it's easier to think: I had a 24mm, now 18mm, if I overachieved I can pick any of the diameters in between that are plentiful and cheap. I generally don't mess with the set-up at the track aside from tire pressure, I like to chill between sessions haha

car sounds great! nice driving

i put on bmr adjustable sway bars. didnt know where to start so i started in the middle for front and rear. whoa did the rear end want to come out easily. afterwards kelly suggested i put it at full soft. he said my mpss are not an aggressive enough tire. havent had a chance to take it out again after the change. if its still too much, i may yank them and go with something else.

Reviving an old thread! just wanted to share a recent lap at Grattan from last year (2 years on) but with a 22mm sway bar, 305 Pirelli slicks, and seat time. over 3 seconds a lap faster than the first video I posted. Progress! I just missed out on breaking into the 1:24s, but gives me something to strive towards this year. I achieved a 1:25.1. Anyways, I promised an update on the sway bar. I originally went with an 18mm RSB, but thought it made the car push too much. 22mm feels good but I may try a 20mm in the future. The car's rear end is definitely tied down better now.

Really cool seeing the 2 year progress! Can tell you weren't driving as hard which 9 times out of 10 is faster in a non pro world. That resolution+ tires really worked out for ya! Also what brake setup are you running?

Nice progress and great driving. I have to imagine that the uphill blind right with quick left at the 1:35 mark has to bite some pretty frequently.

5W-50 Mobil 1 changed before and after a track day. Never used Blackstone. An external oil cooler and big rad keep temps in check.

Do you run both the Mishimoto oil cooler and Boss 302 oil cooler? Do they work together?

I use 5W-20 Mobil 1 and change right before and after as well. Is the 50 better in some way? I assume better for the engine temps? Is this the weight used in the Boss 302?

We have very similar mods for our 2011 GT’s. I am not as skilled in driving as you appear to be but I have been learning and getting better for the past two years.

Scheduled for several events this year starting next month.

Yes I use both coolers. Many people believe the Boss cooler increases coolant temps, and they’re probably right but I don’t have overheating issues. I did have to use a Moroso sandwich plate to seal to the Boss cooler though.

5W-50 is what is used in the Boss 302s and I believe it was used in 13-14 track pack GTs. It’s more suitable for high temp track use, maintains proper viscosity.

What tracks have you been to?

Thanks! Yeah it’s pretty dramatic in real life. There are two spots on the track that are airborne, that is one of them and you’re in 4th gear. You have to trust that you have “launched” on the correct trajectory for the right hand apex. I have seen it go wrong and i imagine a change of shorts is necessary
