The cop got the guy with the first and last shot. I hate to say the are luck but this could have been very bad for both those cops. This outcome was definitely not guaranteed. This is a typical scenario for gun fights. Most gun fights are close in, shot one handed, and the sights are not used. I am glad the good guys won.

She was shot in the leg and rendered useless to her partner, and made quite a few mistakes that fortunately didn't cost any good guys their life. A good example of a quota hire.

I was sorta surprised she was right on top of the guy when she had him get out of the car.
Literally blind to half his body and one of his arms.
Stuff like that is why I couldn’t be a cop. So many different situations where a life and death scenario can turn ugly if a single precaution isn’t followed.

it's a catch 22 in those situations unfortunately
that's protocol regardless. Police officers aren't authorized to pronounce people.
Maybe he was just playing dead. No way to know and he’s not going to waste time to find out or be wrong.

She's lucky she had a 2nd officer. I see a lot of patrol cars around here rolling around with just one officer. She would have been dead if not for her partner.
