Gotta love it though- we all pay hundreds per month to insure our vehicles, and I'm sure most of us are responsible drivers. Yet, some backwoods incest-bred redneck scumbag 17 year old can drive around with state minimum and nearly ruin your life, so you have to pay more to make up for their extra eyes, chromosomes, and gills. Gotta love it.

I have progressive for regular insurance and they're raising the cost of the mustang 600 dollars in 2019 and I'm sure it's because of other people like you state. I put 2000 miles on the car this year, I've had no violations on my record in over 6 years and no accidents ever. Yet Progressive wants me to pay a new rate of $4000 in 2019 for 3 cars, 2 which are full coverage.

After I move in a month or two I'll be looking into collector insurance so I'm actually glad Sid revived this topic.

I have Hagerty on my '14 GT. AV is $28,000 100/300k listed as pleasure driving $520/year. The car must be garaged and you have to have another vehicle as a daily. Other than that they are not strict as to what you use it for. They said as long as you use it with in the spirit of the policy. So I take it to work sometimes, and pretty much drive it whenever I want.

The reason why I had to get CC insurance was because my son got his DL and they raised the Mustang to $2500/yr. P.S their magazine is pretty good too.

Hey now...why you gotta be like that?
Just describing the POS that nearly killed my wife last year, and the reason why so many of us pay the "I'm a responsible member of society" tax.

Allstate pulled that on us, which is one of the three reasons we left them. Think they'll get money out of derelicts? Nope. So that's why we pay more.

I swear this country needs a purge.

Great topic. Ill be in the market next year for this coverage. Nice to see that its extremely reasonable, Progressive wants an arm and a leg in AZ and are by far the cheapest ive found for me. Fine for my dailys, but way too expensive for the Shelby if she's been retired to a garage queen/weekend status.

I've heard Liberty Mutual has decent specialty car coverage. Has anyone tried them?
That's interesting. I never knew they had specialty car insurance.
I have LM on my daily driver and I pay a lot for insurance, but then again, I don't own the truck just yet. As @Smooth mentioned above, the rates seem to go up every single year.

Mine was minimal raises the first couple of years, then all of a sudden, BAM! I called 'em to discuss like grown-ups but they weren't havin' it. So I told 'em to kiss my white privilege.

I really don't understand why ins companies do this. Do they think most people are unable to switch to a cheaper company?

I've been told that they count on most people not paying attention to the rate and that it's a common practice. I shop insurance companies at least every two years.

Hagerty was competitive on my stock Foxbody. They were higher than most all others on my stock Terminator.

I had Liberty Mutual on my daily drivers a few years ago and they give a great teaser rate to get in and hit you hard every year after that. Got out and now with Allstate. They have great rates for my DD cars and also great homeowners ins. rates. I will be looking elsewhere once they start jacking me.

Yeah,...they like to rape you. I'm expecting a hike in the coming year. I'll probably call them this year and demand an explanation. I have no tickets or infractions on my driving record. Why charge me more when I've been with you guys for so long? I'm sure they'll tell me to pound sand.
And then,......I'll tell them to pound their meat when I go looking for another insurance carrier. :D

I’ll be going with Grundy soon. The deal breaker with Hagerty was no buy back option. Really liked everything else they offered, but regardless of the condition my car is in, I want it back.

Pick your poison.

When I let my agent know that I was switching, he says "Oh, I'm an independent agent...I coulda shopped insurance for you."

I still get a 'Happy Birthday' email from him. ****in' douchebag.

Following for more info.

I just checked into American based on this thread and I like what they offer with their occasional use/restaurant allowance and the pricing looks competitive.
