Lots of plastic under there. Let the mods begin !!
The GT ran .38 at Vir with more in it. The 500 will be at least 2 seconds behind.
That's a huge wildcard, heat soak. Will the GT500 be able to go toe to toe with the ZL1 1LE in serious heat/humidity without going into limp mode first?
True. While Ford could do a better job of organizing the engine bay, I feel that the aftermarket for mustangs have done a very respectable job designing and producing quality dress-up parts in the past. Some may say that paying premium for a Shelby should warrant an already aesthetically appealing engine bay, however what is acceptable for some may not be for others. So, its subjective in nature.
If I purchase a car like this, I would most likely buy aftermarket dress up parts anyways, so the lack of under hood organization doesn't really bother me.
They’ve literally had years to develop a 1LE beater. It would be the fail of the century if it doesn’t come out on top in every performance metric.
Now the stake are even higher for Ford with Chevrolet releasing a 10 speed ZL1 1LE this month after Ford debut the GT500.
Agreed. Will be interesting to see how the DCT performs and hopefully negates the Camaros weight advantage. The real question is will Chevy drop in the 755hp ZR1 engine to the Camaro. I’m still confident in the GT500 combo wins out, but weight is always the wildcard. Now the stake are even higher for Ford with Chevrolet releasing a 10 speed ZL1 1LE this month after Ford debut the GT500.
Wow, can you imagine if they did that?? If it had the 755HP and 715TQ? I would imagine that they would sell a lot of them. Heck, I might even be interested! lolThe real question is will Chevy drop in the 755hp ZR1 engine to the Camaro.

The new gt500’s engine bay looks as good as the demons or the camaro’s to me. Modern bays need less plastic and more painted/coated metal, aluminum, and magnesium stuff. If cheap asses like me can shill for decent stuff, these companies can too. The plastic is a joke.
I like ford’s engine bay better than the chevy’s because it’s not all plastic. Who wants tons of painted plastic everywhere? Go back to colored head covers though. The gt500 should have deep rich blue valve covers. I know the hellcat red eye has black heads while the hellcats have orange heads. I like those kinds of changes.
I keep staring at it and wondering if I could ever do orange.
The test for me is what does the car look like a few years down the road...an ugly anomaly or really good the entire time.
