So why the info check, when it's not checked?

Looks like someone collecting info to me.

Feels sketchy since it's not the official website of Equifax. It's just some random website claiming to be a portal for checking eligibility.

Key in smith and 111111 and will say your eligible. Just looks fishy.

According to that CNN Business page, if you claim that you already have credit monitoring, you can elect to claim the $125. That then implies that if you take the $125, you will no longer get the free 10 years of credit monitoring -- four years via the three major credit bureaus (Equifax, Experian and TransUnion) and six years specifically through Equifax. Sounds like you can't have both, if I'm reading the article correctly.

Is the check site legit? If so this JDN and Equifax sure are shit companies.

Can't even trust the settlement site.

Guess since the site takes any name and bogus ssn illegals can rake in millions off it.

Hell I guess I could fund a new GT500 with the checks they are doing for eligibility

Long night ahead on this one....

I've been reading about this earlier in the day, at first I wasn't worried then I saw this thread. Clicked the link. Entered my info and bam, says I was affected so guess who's filling the form out to get compensated?
This guy.

Thanks man.

Probably fine, but the check website is bullshit. It doesn't check anything.

The initial settlement was for free credit monitoring. You had to enroll back in 2017. If you are wondering if you have the Equifax monitoring then you dont. But it is moot since your CC probably already provides this. I have credit monitoring through both Wells Fargo and amex so dont care about this.

If you want to get jiggy with it claim a bunch of expenses and time. You can claim 20 hrs at 50/hr. Trust me, the class action trustees dont give a shit and approve anything. I claimed 700 in emotional distress for a lenovo class action.

I did put in some bogus info at first at it came back saying not affected, I then proceeded to try my real info and it said I was affected. I know that doesn't mean much but that made me want to believe it's checking something to determine if you're eligible or not.

The link is through the FTC. The site that you click to check is the claims trustee/administrator. It is comparable to when you pay your mortgage you are not actually paying your bank, you are paying an administrator. It is legit.
