So guys I'm about to get a Stressless Legcomfort recliner. But before I move forward on this, I'm curious if any of you have any suggestions for a recliner that is plush, comfortable AND won't fall apart in 3 years?

I’ve wanted a Lay-Z-Boy for years. But every time I even consider pulling the trigger, I realize that I’m more of an overstuffed leather couch kind of guy.

Let me do you a solid right now and tell you do not spend a nickel on Lazy Boy Furniture of any kind. They're not what they used to be. I was so fed up with my last lazy boy set I gave it away. I wanted it completely out of my house

Literally. Looked at the weak points. It's put together with staples. That was the recliner.

Sofa was misaligned and I went through the warranty process with Lazy Boy. They admitted it was put together bad and never should have left the factory in such condition. They never fixed it I would never buy another piece of furniture buy Lazy Boy or associated with that company again and I will dissuade anyone from purchasing their products

Looks like a $3,500.00 Office chair. If it fits the decor of your home and you like it, go for it.

I've bought various furniture items that recline over the past 2-4 years and I've found that generally the quality ranges from marginal to sub-par. One of those items was a misaligned reclining sofa with the left side noticeably lower (seat back) than the right side. It was a clearance item so I've lived with it in my office. Most recently I bought another leather sofa that was advertised to have a solid steel frame to prevent sagging. Nope! The side I sit in every day has already started to sag. You can feel the different in the seating surface between my seat and the one on the left. So if I end up replacing it in a year or so, I will NOT even consider stuff from the local furniture store. Or Costco! It's all sub-par. Comfortable for awhile and then it loses it's seating luster. I'll drive to, say, New York City, and buy reputable and premium quality furniture from a higher end retailer (made in the U.S.).

I remember back in the 70s - '90s there was a premium furniture outlet in Milford, CT call Wayside. Awesome place. Their stuff was not cheap but the quality was excellent for the most part. They closed their store years ago because people were more looking for cheaper stuff. Well, people got what they were looking for. But the quality is now cheaper, too.

Try Basset furniture store, maybe they have better quality. I have a lazy boy recliner and it’s over 20 years old, still comfortable as hell. It is very difficult to find anything worth spending your hard earned money on anymore. We went to a lazy boy store and they were asking 4-5k for sofas and they looked and felt so cheap. The prices are high but the quality just isn’t there.

That's sad, La-Z-Boy used to be the shit. My great grandparents bought one of their couches back in I'm guessing the mid to late 90s, I really don't remember as I was a kid back then but I remember them using it for years. They passed away in 2010 and that couch was still there when my parents bought the place. They used the couch for 4 years before I took it when I moved to a new place. I used the couch for 3 more years before my (now wife) decided it was too ugly and we sold it to some college kids living next door.

It was some ugly pea green color but damn it was still in amazing shape when we let it go. That couch had to be about 20 years old.

Buy some shit from the Amish, our couch was ~9k and 10 years later it’s still as plush and comfortable as the day it was new. Never regretted that purchase. Everything was customized from the fabric and stitching to the stain and piping, even the throw pillows were exactly how you wanted.

No, found a local mom and pop retailer that knew their stuff and they spent about 2 hours with my wife and I ironing out the details. Order was placed and about 3 weeks later it arrived.

While not exactly a plush, marshmallow chair type, check out Ethan Allen. They are comfortable and have a reputation for building things that last.
