So I turned my car to the on position this morning and noticed a sound in my engine as a part was running without the engine started which has never happened. What is this, how bad could it be and how do I get it fixed? Listen to video please. Ty

Can't see the video, but there aren't many things that can run with the key in the on position. My first thought is the fan. Did you look under the hood to figure out where the noise is coming from?

Here you go listen to this and let me know what you think it might be. It’s coming from around the supercharger area it seems

Why is that happening n is it a bad thing that I drove today? How do I fix it? I assume this is not something that will go away on its own and is it bad to drive on it like this?

I mean that's a sign it's still working, you don't want that thing shitting out. How it all of a sudden got hard wired to the ignition on a permanent cycle is strange. Did you just have work done or something?
I don't know your setup or the history of your car so I'm just taking a guess but that's what it sounds like.

No this is all just literally random. I just pulled my car out of storage like three weeks ago and it’s maybe the sixth time I’ve driven it. It’s a stock bottom end motor with a pro charger P1SC kit tuned with a Diablo chip since 2008. Pretty basic stuff under the hood.

Also I assume when my car is running this is always running regardless correct? So I guess almost when I put in the on position and I hear it and then I start it my guess is it’s working and as long as I hear it working there shouldn’t be an issue correct? I know this is something I’m gonna have to get looked at at some point is my guess

Generally Procharger set ups don't have an intercooler pump. They're air to air in new edge Cobras.

So the engine wasn't running in that video? Because that sure sounded like a Procharger blower at idle to me. If you're suddenly hearing air check the bypass valve. Make sure none of the hoses popped off.

No the engine was not running in that video. And yes I agree it does sound like a pro charger at idle but a lot quieter whistle though. And yes it could be the bypass valve I put in it sounds like it was coming from that area. So I’m thinking maybe check if everything is connected or do you think maybe I should disconnect the negative cable of my battery for a couple minutes and then reconnect it that might help turn it off?

Sorry. I edited my post. I think when I opened the app it took me to a different video.

With the engine not running it won't be the bypass. There isn't any air moving through it when the engine is shut off.

Get yourself a mechanics stethoscope.

While that is an odd noise to hear with the engine off, it shouldn’t be hard to track down.

If it’s the fan, it’ll be moving....

Not sure what kind of bypass valve you have, but I’ve never heard of an electric one so not sure how that could be it.

Yes I agree. My bypass valve is from a Oem eagle talon I’ve used since I’ve had my pro charger on. Because the factory one that it comes with is not good quality.

I found the problem by the looks of it my pipe came undone from my supercharger snail. How in the heck do I get this thing to stay on it?? literally gives you about a half inch lip to get connected I literally been wrestling with this for 20 minutes I cannot get it to stick on without pushing right off

Is it a rushing air sound? I'm on my phone so I'm making sure. If so check the fan.

I didn't know what his setup was but going off his video that's exactly what it sounded like. it's like when I use a wire jumper when I'm at the track to manually keep my intercooler going to circulate ice water in the lanes.

What pump are you running? I'm just curious because mine isn't that loud. But I know I need to upgrade.

Update I connected the pipe back on successfully to the snail on the blower and it did not fix the noise problem. I also disconnected the battery to see if that would fix it nope!

What pump like fuel pump or water pump?
Walbro fuel pump that came w kit n stock water pump

FYI fan is not moving

Sorry. We kind of high jacked your thread. If you have an air to air intercooler you don't have an intercooler pump. At this point you're going to have to crawl around the car to find it. At least it's loud enough to find easily.
