They call that blind allegiance...

Ford's F-seris truck interiors are straight trash.
Ok calling them straight trash is a little overboard. It’s nicer then the GM twins and the Nissan and the Toyota. But the Ram interior is beautiful especially for a truck.

If you think the 5th gen Ram 1500 has a "shit" interior you are blind. Go test drive one. I'm in the market for a new truck and the F250 interior is shit. The F250 w/ the 7.3 is a better truck than the Ram 2500 but that Ford interior...

Regarding Porsche... that flat 6 engine and exhaust note are great!

I agree the 7.3 would be it for me in Ford’s truck line up. It’d be awesome if they would put that engine in the gen 3 raptor but I’m almost certain it’s going to be a powerboost.
That would work on so many levels, Porsche has the best 6 cylinder exhaust note. The GT3 RS 4.0 exhaust is straight up pornography.

Pick your poison.

I could be wrong but no way does the 7.3 go to a half ton. Even in Raptor form.

Id take a GM truck interior over an F series any day of the week and 2x on Sunday. Toyota and Nissan? lol.. stop it already... they arent even competing in the full size market. They have an offering.. but they certainly arent serious about competing for segment numbers.

I never said that...please actually read my post

Yes, you were referring to the Demon and Red Eye. We are in a thread about the trucks. Regardless, I disagree that the Red Eye interior is "shit." It's not a German interior but it definitely stands on its own compared to other domestic offerings.

I agree with this to a point but the absolute only complaint for the Raptor is the exhaust note, so with that I'm not buying the argument that all boxes have to be checked on a vehicle that 70k. For me personally that's putting the exhaust note to high up on the list.

For reference no way I would pay the money for a demon or red eye. I'm not paying that kind of money for shit interior and handles like a whale out of water. But most ppl love it for the power and exhaust note.

Again it's fine if you don't like it, I don't think it's that great either but it's class-leading and everything else and I personally wouldn't let the exhaust note be the end-all-be-all. If that were the case by your logic why do people buy Porsches when you can just buy a red eye....

I don't know maybe I just like cars that dojt sound good. I hate the sound of my E46 M3 yet it's one of the most fun cars I have ever owned

mig were going over all the boxes, the two boxes that didn’t check for me at the price point the raptor was going for in December of 2018 when I bought was the interior and the sound. I love the raptor but couldn’t justify it at its respective price point since I won’t used it for its true intended purpose.

I then cross shopped the f150 platinum and ram limited. I had never owned a FCA product prior but the ram had me sold. I actually ended up going home with a loaded up Laramie as I wanted the black appearance package but found one with air suspension, 12 inch screen, tow pack, and adaptive cruise that I wanted so it wasn’t really a step down from a limited.

I saved myself at least 15k which gladly helped make me not miss the raptor in my driveway either. Not that it isn’t an awesome truck and it’s worth it’s respective price point to me but I couldn’t justify it enough to purchase. If I were shopping today I’d happily spend the 83k msrp for the TRX vs the current raptor, though I’d also like to wait a bit longer and see what the next raptor has to offer.

I know it sounds dumb to some people but frankly I’m always happy when I remote start my truck and I hear it’s exhaust note, or when I’m cruising along with the windows down and that’s just a lowly 5.7 with a magnaflow welded in. I couldn’t imagine the TRX.

I’ll give credit to ford for stepping it up with the new f150. Just based on pics and video the interior looks right on par with the new ram interior.

When I was shopping track hawks I saw people were getting 17 highway 15-16 avg
Wow,..........that's pretty good for a big supercharged engine. That must have been in "ECO" mode, I assume??

**** the ECO mode. That's where it cuts down the cylinders? **** that,.....I'd shut it off every single time I drove it. Like I do with my truck, I disable the MDS every single time I drive the truck.

No cylinder shut down onthe Hellcat motors.

Eco mode just dulls the throttle, kills 1st gear starts and shortens upshifts.

Okay so then if you actually read my post then you would know that you don't have a point and bring up the Ram interior because that's not something that I questioned, it's well-documented in this thread and others that I said Ram interior is second to none.

So if you knew I was talking about the red eye and Demon it was dumb to bring up the ram as nowhere in my post did I refer to the ram as being shit interior.

The rest of your post I can debate with you but it really wouldn't matter since you actually didn't grasp the meaning of my post.

Do you and I have been on this topic for a while and I enjoy these debates with you because for the most part you seem to be one of them more reasonable ones that down just spew out garbage like others in this thread but with that said to this post that you made I ask these questions.....

Were you just looking at a raptor because of the name? Most people in this thread just want it for the name so I'm asking are you in that category? It is very clear from what you described as your needs a raptor or TRX would really be a waste of money since you are just looking for sound and Power..... but sound first and foremost.

Why do you feel the need to wait for the trx4 pricing to come down when Ford already has two options that suits your need. You chose to get a sub 400HP V8 instead of a supercharged Roush or Shelby F150 which both can be had for around or even cheaper then the Gen 2 Raptor.

That tells me either A. You never really wanted to drop that kind of coin on a truck or B. It doesn't matter about the other V8 options you just wanted a Raptor with a V8 for the name plate.

I am sure better interior had a play in it as well but from everything you've posted I think he would be okay with Ford lesser interior if the Raptor had a V8.

thanks, I’m really not a brand loyalist so for me it’s easy to debate this stuff. As far as why I wanted the raptor, it was more about the ascetics, the wider body and different look was really appealing. I also felt they drove very comfortably and with a 100 mile round trip commute comfort is very important.

I don’t care for the look of the roush or Shelby which is the only reason I passed on them. Truth be told I was working numbers on a 2018 platinum with the 5.0 and the plan was toss a whipple on it. I still debate if that wouldn’t have been more fun as the coyote can handle boost far better then the hemi to the point I again can’t even justify the cost of a blower for how little return in safe power I’d get on my current ram.

the ram was a good compromise, the body of the truck over all has a bit more curve to the bed sides and fenders, nothing like a raptor but it’s not just a flat panel side like the standard f150. The drive comfort was much better specially with the air suspension and short of the massaging seats the interior was just much more updated and comfortable.

I will say if I were to shop today and the new gen f150 was out that interior would have really closed the gap. Ultimately though when it came down to it, there was more upside for the ram and I ended up with a model year newer truck for less money than the platinum and far less than the raptor.

You’re right maybe I never was going to spend the coin on the raptor and I likely won’t on a TRX. With an almost paid for truck currently it’s hard to want another large expense. I just know that I lusted for a raptor till I spent time in them and starting working out numbers and the price point vs shortcomings to me didn’t balance enough at the time. Bang for the buck won out this time.

Next purchase may be a very odd cross shop as well, something like a raptor or TRX for the fun factor and looks or go full electric now that companies are bringing trucks to the market in coming years lol

It was dumb to bring up the demon or red eye interiors in a thread about the TRX then. I still disagree with you that the red eye interior is "shit." It's not. But I wont debate with you because you can't grasp the concept of what I said.
