Bingo. Entire exhaust system industry is 99.9999% based on sound.
I had long tubes installed on my c6zr1 before I ever saw the car in person. Minimal power gains compared to other things I could’ve spent the money on. Cam on this car is the same way. I could pick up probably another 100whp for the cost of those items. But damn it sounds insane. How many terminators have stock exhaust? Zero probably. Including mine. Hell, I’ve considering cams on that car numerous times and it’s crazy money for a few hp. But that sound...

Love my Raptor but 760 hp would be mas bueno. Is it needed, no, but 4 wheel burnouts sound like a good time!

Id still like to see a lightweight NA v8- 550hp. in these trucks! It would be perfect! AWE exhaust on mine makes it much more tolerable!

thats what the ecoboost mustang guys would say. imagine if the GT350R was an ecoboost 4 banger. but still had 550hp.

I actually was imagining how the Ford GT would sell if they chose to put a EcoBoost motor in it instead of a V8.............

I’m not completely sold on the gloss black paint at the bottom, need to see some in person. Only way around it is to order the diamond black...only monotone color they offer, kinda surprised by that.

And yeah i don’t hate the ZL1, just think the lines on the 350 are some of the best ever. After trading, the bang for buck in the ZL1 is pretty damn amazing.

Yea I’d prefer not to have the black two tone section. Thankfully it’s a moot point, while I really really want one, I doubt I’ll buy one. We’re in the midst of building a new home so buying a TRX the first year with prices likely being high would just be stupid lol. It is very tempting though

that’s a much different buyer segment I feel like. I also couldn’t care less what motor is in something I won’t reasonably be able to afford anyway lol I’ve spent much time in a friends previous gen FGT and that blow V8 sounds amateur really that car is just an amazing machine to drive.

You mean all 30 of them?

Hahahaha....yea, all 30. I'm sure Ford had to beg ppl to buy them because of the V6 sound. Maybe Ford didnt even sell them all and are now having a dollar per hp discount

Benefits greatly from only having 1 foot of exhaust, snappy, quick revving motor as well. Lol. Even at that, when placed next to a Ferrari or lambo, the sound is lacking for sure. I think there are some fantastic sounding 6 cyl vehicles for sure. Porsche has one of the best sounding motors of all time in the gt3. Gtr exhaust note is nice. That doesn’t in any way mean the raptor sounds good.

You do realize the 11-scale lure and fanfare behind the current GT has 0 to do with the engine installed, right?

Never mind.

Have come?? They've been doing it every single year since the 1960's. They still run a beetle class to this day, they use the OG vw suspension with quality shocks these days.

Might I add that the gen1 Raptor ran the Baja in 35hours. The beetle class winners are around 25hours.

Ford F-150 SVT Raptor R completes inaugural run of Baja 1000

ENSENADA, MEXICO, Nov. 25, 2008 – The Ford F-150 SVT Raptor R race truck, based on the production version of the upcoming 2010 F-150 SVT Raptor, survived the grueling 41st Tecate SCORE Baja 1000, finishing the 631 mile race in 25:28:10

I don't really recall the baja runs back then, but this says 25+ hours for the Baja 1000. Now, the Gen 1 couldn't run in the production class due to the Raptor not out yet so it had to run in the Class 8.

They beefed up the engine and suspension but the frame/trans/axles/brakes being stock.

The Gen 2 was supposedly nearly showroom stock* and ran it in 35 hours. But the course was 854 miles long. 220 more miles than the event the Gen 1 ran.

*Fuel cell, roll cage and harnesses.

Exactly. Majority bought in hopes of big investment based on success of the first gen fgt. Thats an entirely different buyer at that price point. They would sell the same amount if it had an electric motor in it. Not my money though. Same argument from me...Ferrari makes a car as fast AND sounds insane. That’s where my money would go.

I never said the raptor sounds amazing lol....I swear nobody in this thread has actual reading comprehension. I said sound is not the end all be all that everyone in this thread is making it out to be.

I never claim to be a raptor expert and to know more about off roading than anybody else , my position in the debate was and will always be I understand why Ford doesn't listen to the ppl that want to use it more on road than off considering the whole base of the raptor conception is it being an off road baja capable truck first then a daily kid hauler mall crawler

My position with you has been the same, the raptor didnt suit what you wanted so you bought the other Ford truck that did. @My94GT did the same thing with his rebel .

All this said did you order a trx?

Assuming that the people that are enthusiastic about sound on their truck, is a sign of intent to only wanting to use said truck on road and not off road, is about as dumb as a seasoning a steak with water.

this is specially rich coming from a guy that admits to having little to no experience off road.

oh Kaz, poor poor... lol
