Anyone watching this?
I was pretty skeptical and hesitant. I've been very disappointed in recent Star Wars writing. Mandalorian was decent. Book of Boba Fett didn't keep my attention at all.
This short Obi-Wan series I thought was truly amazing. Not so much with the 6 episode story, but rather everything else in the story. Honestly, the actual story is pretty lame and creates a paradoxal plot hole. Leia never knew Obi-Wan, period. Not even as a child, but by the end of this series, it's semi believable.
Seeing a young Darth Vader struggle with who he has become is something I think we all needed to see. The flash backs are good. This story ties together the prequals into the main saga well.
The best part was seeing Vader and Obi-Wan battle again. Best Jedi battle in the whole franchise. Loved seeing Vader get the ever loving shit beat out of him. Once again, Obi-Wan tries to save him, which ties together a line from Return of the Jedi where Vader says to Luke, " Obi-Wan once thought as you do."
The anger for Vader's hate and rage is never really explained well throughout the Star Wars franchise, and honestly we never really get to see it unfold, until this series.
If you're even the smallest fan of Star Wars, I think you will enjoy this series.
