Hello Everyone,

I was out of the office a few days last week, so I made some progress on the Fox Body while I was at home.

First thing I did was re-install my badging.

I used the template that I downloaded from LMR's website.

I wanted to use my laser level, but couldn't find it. So, I went with a regular level. I just pushed the 5.0 emblem up against the level to install it. I wanted to have a back up as the template is just to get you in the general area and I did not know how straight the template was.

I think it came out very well. I am very happy with this.

I also used the same technique to get the LX emblem installed. However, there is no template for this. I used previous pictures to get it in the ballpark.

After that I got the "MUSTANG" decals placed on the QTR windows.

The way I did it was to make a template by placing a piece of tape along the bottom of the original window. I made marks along the window itself and to outline the Mustang lettering. I then placed the tape on the new QTR windows and aligned the marks with the window which got me close enough to where the "Mustang" lettering goes.

My template worked well. I think it looks great having the lettering back on the glass. Even my wife said the addition of the badges and lettering made a difference overall.

Then I checked my oil pressure.

Got the car situated.
20240128_103725_resized.jpg

Got the mechanical gauge installed.
20240128_103839_resized.jpg

I checked the oil pressure. Mechanical gauge says 52PSI. This "is" inline with what the factory gauge was displaying when I purchased the car.
20240128_104046_resized.jpg

So, I decided to change the oil. Man, I don't think anyone ever cleaned up under here. A thin coat of oil and dirt is on almost everything. Got to clean this up.
20240128_104835_resized.jpg

Changed the oil and used some brake cleaner to spray things down. Needs a little more cleaning, but looks WAY better now.
20240128_112818_resized.jpg

Checked the oil pressure after the oil change and it reads the same, 52PSI. So, this goes to show the Dakota digital sensor is bad or reads low from the factory.
20240128_113830_resized.jpg

I cleaned the Dakota digital sensor and re-installed it. No change on the dash. Read out says 35PSI and the needle on the gauge displays low. I already ordered a new sensor from Dakota digital. I'll see what the new one reads and go from there.

Since I had the car out, on Sunday the wife wanted to take the Vert out for a drive. I took the Fox Body and the wife and I went for a cruise. It was cool to see people giving my wife thumbs up. I got a few thumbs up in the Fox Body myself LOL.

Man, that Cobra silhouette just looks awesome!

I tried to take a picture in the rearview, but my phone kept getting in the way. Got this using the "night" aspect on the rearview. Not a great picture, but you get the idea LOL.

Once we got back home I snapped a few pictures of the Fox Body with all the new badges and QTR window decals on. Man, I'm really liking this car.

Great job, Glenn. I'm not surprised, since your attention to detail is renowned. (y)

Our group had a foxbody meet at the local car show. We had 31 foxbodies show up then a couple of us went for some beers after the show.

Safe to say you’ve definitely brought up the value of the car since you purchased it. These are the sorts of details that make the difference.

Thank you! Appreciate you! Next on my list will be to detail the engine bay and underside (to a point). Nothing like my 65, but the Fox needs to be a little more presentable.

My Recaro Pace car seats are getting started, torn down and the metal will get blasted/repaired/painted and it will get all new foam and custom leather and will look something like the last pics below. I still need to decide on the colors, I might go all black as the rest of the interior is black, but I also am thinking about doing the stitching in blue as the car will be painted a bright blue...

Ah, so those were your seats I saw posted on FB. SHould look nice when done.

One thing about stitching. Mine has red stitching, and it drives me banana's that the other leather products in my interior don't have it. Shifter boot, parking brake boot, and the leather covers on the armrests. I feel i need to go rebuy that all with the matching stitching now, but I also feel it might be too much and wish it was black stitching.

Yup, and just like the rest of the car started out, a huge freaking mess... should fit in perfectly! Kevin will also redo my rear seat to match, so at least the front and rear stitching will be matching I just have to choose how to do it.

Hello Everyone,

I was going back through this thread an realized I never posted pictures of the final install of the Dakota Digital Dash.

So, here you go.

Got everything done except calibrating the speedometer.
20240125_112726_resized.jpg

Took the car out and drove it a mile. Set the speedometer and verified it was working properly.

I then took the car out during the evening to see how the dash looked at night. I'm very happy with these settings.

Day time set up.

I like the "mint" green theme as I believe it matches the HVAC controls the best.
