that's right. lol

I just flew in to Midway from LA tonight, to see a bunch of snow on the ground. When I left it was nice and dry, but cold. I guess I should have checked the weather report.

I get out to my car in the covered parking garage at the airport ($28 freaking dollars per day). Luckily in Chicago they salt the main roads, so getting from point A to point B isn't too much of a problem. The problem lies in the attempt to maneuver a near 600whp, rwd, nose heavy pig that's wearing hi-perf summer tires down an alley with 5" of snow on it. At first, I was just going to say **** it and park the car on the street, but the I decided to give it a go. I was able to make it down the alley in one piece, with no accidents or close calls, except for when I tried stopping, but just kept going (abs wasn't too happy about that). To put the icing on the cake, I included a dash shot of my dad's ride from Tuesday afternoon showing how "cold" it was in LA this time of year.

Here are some pix of the alley.

Really. That was kinda dumb dude. Basically asking somebody to rip it off. Plus, PLEASE PLEASE put that car up on a lift and power wash the shit out of it. I would have rather paid $28 / day and left the car in there till spring than drive it through the salt. That thing is JUNK now. Rust bucket waiting to happen.

Yeah man, your car is totally junk now. You might as well bring it to a junkyard and see what you can get for it....just kidding, I don't think that guy is though.

I drove my 2003 Cobra with TCS turned off (by computer) yesterday in snow in Maryland. I think we got almost 6 inches and I left work early 11am in cobra after it started to snow 8am. I go in at 7am. It had about 1 1/2 inches when i left. It was the scariest drive when I fishtail at least half dozen times and 4x4 trucks blow past me like I am a little old lady driving 20-30 miles in a 40-50 mph zone. My beater had a wheel broken stud and good thing I have a gargage and I fixed that really quick so I drove my beater to work this morning.

Beater is must for Cobra owners.

Beaters are not a must. You just need to know someone with a truck and trailor for when you break something when you launch at 6-6500 at the track on slicks. My way of thinking is if your not breaking stuff your not driving it fast enough. When that breaks replace it with something better and move on to the next weak link.
