Rod is a very nice guy. I'm sure the car will be just like he says it is. Like I said before, I don't really care to sell mine. But I would sell it just because there are a couple other cars I've found that I'd like to have. I don't know if you were looking for a transport company, but if you are, I used one a while back and can get you their name and number if you'd like. Good luck.

Thanks shhak. David is going to come pick up the car. I wouldn't be real comfortable shipping it unless maybe it was that one white glove company that only uses enclosed 2 car trailers. Even then, I prefer the buyer see the car before the sale, that's just how I am. Besides I want to see the look on his face after a 17psi pull. LOL

I know what you mean. The place I used shipped a 66 vette for me from Miami to here (southern TN). They used a NASCAR type trailer with the lift in it and everything. They were exceptionally careful. In fact, they didn't want me to help unload it. They wanted to make sure it wasn't touched until it was out of their trailer. I think it was like 850 miles and they did it for $1150 which was very cheap I thought.

I found a place like that when I bought this car from Lyle, it was around $1500 from Chicago to NC, they only hauled 2 cars at a time and from pick up to drop off was less than 24 hours. They treat the cars like gold. Well worth $1500 IMO. Lyle and Dana ended up bringing it to me. Lyle's like me,he wanted to make sure I was happy with the car. David sounds like he has his stuff together. I think this deal may just work out.

It's nice to deal with people who have all their ducks in a row, so to speak... Beats the deal I had with the guy making minimum wage...LOL! Hopefully the sale goes thru for you. Even though we both know you'll be kicking yourself in just a couple days. Especially after the "new" of the boat wears off.... Congrats on the sale. (pending sale):rockon:

No doubt I will miss the car alot, I know I will. But it is the right thing for me to do right now, so that makes it a little easier.

I know of at least 3 that have $30-$40k on top of what they paid for the car that are just sitting cause they ran out of $$$ and are too hard headed to cut their losses now and let someone else finish it. PhillySVT, I guess we're both stuck with these slobras we've got.......for now:rockon:

I almost bought two cars like that...one had so much into it I felt bad for the guy. Seriosely he had to have over 50k into it beside the cost of the car and it wasn't put together. I know he still has it and it's still sitting in the same shape.

I almost bought one that the guy said he had over 60k in and it had a serious "issue". It already had a built motor, but it still needed a "rebuilt" motor. Thing knocked louder than my diesel p/u... And on top of all that, it wasn't exactly a sharp car anyway. This SB car of Rods looks to be as nice as any you'll find. I was amost to the point of going back to the bank and refinancing my house just so I could park that SB car next to my DSG...

Looks like the car will be gone in one week, now I'm getting nervous. I Guess I better stock up on beer so I can drink away the sorrow. LOL

Buy a couple extras and drink one for me....
BTW, if you ever get the urge, you're welcome to come by and take mine for a cruise.... As nice as your car is, I'm sure it'd be in good hands....

Not a problem, I'll have a couple for you. LOL. I appreciate the offer. If I ever come through your area I'll definitely accept a ride in your beast. Heck, riding is more fun anyway (read:more scary lol)

Dumbest thing I have done with cars was to sell my 03 Cobra. Haste makes waste. I'm sure you have thought it out. That is a bad A Cobra.

Good luck with the sell.

Rod, just curious, but where is your buyer from? Make sure he brings it to the WSC in St Louis next week... Maybe I can beat him in a little friendly race and get him to trade for a "faster" (LOL!!!) car? Hopefully he's not from anywhere near me. I don't need that kind of competition....

That sucks because I wanted to get another ride before it was gone. I guess you will have to buy another one a start over. LOL
