Wow mystical is an idiot. :nonono: I wonder if he even knows that the 99-01 Cobra engines are different from Mach 1's as far as the power band goes. The Mach 1's are better from low to mid end, they loose power at high end unlike the NE Cobra's which are the opposite. Even the 96-98 Cobra's, they are more similar to the NE Cobra's being high end. Too bad he left, seriously what a dumb ass. I thought the 32V redline below 7k??? Are we sure he wasnt driving a Civic SI or an S2000?????!:lol1:

Listen tough guy, I've got nothing to gain from this and certainly nothing to prove to you. You posted a mediocre timeslip and I offered ways in which to improve and was completely discredited simply because I don't own said car. Now I bring up my buddies car and you call :bs:, whatever dude I could care less.

I stated facts why these cars need to be shifted high to get good times while you analyzed dyno sheets from different cars to come to your conclusion:lol:

I have driven numerous machs from stock to full bolt-ons. While feeling a bit stronger down low than a stock 96-98, the same principle applies. The facts are as follows. With the 3650 (and T-45), there is a huge rpm loss going from 1st(3.38) to second (2.00). Shift too low and the car will fall on it's face in second gear plain and simple and with the stock 3.55's it will take time to compensate. Furthermore, the extra shift into fourth when you should be winding out third is hurting your times. Now I'm not claiming to be a pro drag racer, far from it but feel free to ask any serious drag racer and he'll tell you that there is no way you should be shifting into fourth in a stock geared, light bolt-on mach. When you put a real gear in it (4.56, 4.88) you'll be shifting into 5th, I bet that'll yield real fast times:rollseyes

Edit, wait a second, why would you ever want a 4.56 gear in a mach? Being such a torque monster, I wouldn't put anything higher than a 3.73 in it:rollseyes:lol:

Ask any racer, any real racer. Wether is by an inch or a mile, winning is winning.

Commerce dragstrip is the biggest ice skating rink in Ga.

Good run, but expect a much better time at anyother track.

If you have never been to another track, i suggest you go and see the difference. You will be suprised at how well you do.

I couldnt agree more. They never prep that track unless its the Southern Nationals or something. Its a nice dragstrip but the track never hooks. Its at about 1100 feet above sea level too. You wont get your best times at that track, thats for sure.

Unfortunately nowhere. I live in Anderson and Commerce is only about a 45 min drive for me. Ware Shoals is about a hour drive, but its only a 1/8th mile track. Carolina Dragway is about 2 hours from me, but ive never been there. Commerce would be perfect if the cheap bastards would prep the track and keep all the damn imports out of there.

Yea we are practically neighbors...You don't live far from K and me. There weren't to many imports this time at Commerce but like it was stated before NO ONE hooked. OH well what can you do?...

Better bring more than that bolt-on Mach;-)

That wont be a problem.. ;-)

Edit: I just noticed that the car in your pic really isn't your car. I'm not bringing out one of my cars for an imaginary car.

Ok did some maf.... thats slang for math. lol.

Anyhoo.... 26" tire/3650 in 3rd which is 1.32/3.55's...

Engine Speed (RPM) Speed (MPH)
8000 RPM 132.05 MPH
7500 RPM 123.80 MPH
7000 RPM 115.55 MPH
6500 RPM 107.29 MPH
6000 RPM 99.04 MPH
5500 RPM 90.79 MPH
5000 RPM 82.53 MPH
4500 RPM 74.28 MPH
4000 RPM 66.03 MPH
3500 RPM 57.77 MPH
3000 RPM 49.52 MPH
2500 RPM 41.27 MPH
2000 RPM 33.01 MPH
1500 RPM 24.76 MPH
1000 RPM 16.51 MPH

A. what is the rpm limiter on those Mach's
B. Stopsign- what mph were you at passing the traps?

FWIW, when I race 1/8th I'm in the same boat. Coming up on the limiter in 3rd. I just leave it in 3rd. I'll either tap the stock limiter or just make it by like 10ft. But now I raised it to 7300 so I don't have that problem anymore.

-Mark

Her car trapped almost 106mph. I did alot of searching on the Mach boards about where they all were shifting at with bolt ons since I obviously don't own a Mach but I would be racing one. More than one person said they were running faster shifting into 4th gear at 6,200rpms.

I hate.....hate 1/8th mile tracks and I do not like Carolina not to mention its damn near 3 hour drive for me since you have to go through the back woods to get there. I'm going to be trying out the new Zmax track up in NC this season.

I never driven a stock Mach 1 that revs to 7k....

I read about shifting the car earlier... at what RPM does the car make peak horsepower?
