Wow some people are ridiculous. I like how everybody sais this is a ford site but you ford people do the same thing on ls1tech. So how bout those people get the hell out of there. I only signed up for this site to stir the pot a little bit because all the ford guys do it on our site.

I know that we have more cubes but you have 32valves and 4 cams and a blower to make the same power as an ls3. TO me that is pretty sad. I like fords just wouldnt ever buy one myself. Gm FTW. Oh and your mustang should get him pretty bad. Let him get a cam and full exhaust with some tires and see what happens!

or even a C5Z with full bolt-ons / heads / cam / etc LOSING to a STOCK C6Z..

So lets not all start crying here, these are VERY fast cars out of the box..

If the Fox has traction and as good a setup as claimed it should easily beat the Z06 even if the Z06 had bolt-ons. It's true, as one poster said, that the Fox's drag race better than just about any car on the road and that's why we've got drag radial Mustangs breaking records (are they in the 6 second zone yet?) every year and drag racing events with classes and strict rules that keep their speeds from becoming way too insane and killing drivers every year.

Ok not quite 6s yet unless this article is older than I think it is.

Ive got a race comin up and I need some input on what everyone thinks.

1992 foxbody coupe mustang: 408 stroker blue printed and balanced. Main stud girdle, afr 205 heads, custom anderson solid roller cam .620 lift on intake .620 lift on exhaust. victor jr single plane intake with a pro systems custom carb for engine 850 cfm. 1.6 rockers with girdle. Motor should make around 550 and revs out around 7000 rpm. The compression on the motor is 11:1, Exhaust is bbk 1 3/4 longtubes o/r bbk x pipe with single chamber flows dumped. It has no a/c no power steering. Just alternator and water pump.The fuel system is a 12 gallon fuel cell with aeromotive a1000 pump and aeromotive regulator with a return. It has a tko600 trans with a dual friction centerforce clutch and aluminum driveshaft. 3.73 gears and some bolt on suspension in rear with subframe connectors. The car has a tubular k member with coil overs. Ther car went on a major diet with no back seats no wires under dash everything ripped out that wasnt needed. The old gas tank and all the lines were gutted and the car is running on 104 race gas and mickey et streets.

c6 z06: stock
Who should win this race from a dig and from a roll.:shrug:

the only chance a Z06 has is from a roll. the stock tires on these cars are garbage.

what other things to update the motors? Better flowing intake manifolds? better heads? O shit, even a better PCV setup......yah all that stuff add's up to a technical advantage over any other motor I guess....

The only big technical advantage from the 50's to now between the pushrod motors was the introduction of Fuel injection...

Sorry I seen this stupid post and couldn't read any farther so excuse me if this has allready be brought to his attention. You say EFI is the only big technilogical thing that has changed since the 50's on chevy V8's??? Are you that much of a nuthugger that you cant see past you own words. Well lets start of by looking and the 1950's 283 SBC, all Iorn motors with completely different valve angles, intake port angles and shapes and exhaust port shapes and locations. Not to mention now a LS1 has an all aluminum block and heads, completely different main girdles and block structure. High flow aluminum heads from the factory. I mean the list goes on and on of differences between and Ls series motor and a old school SBC. With your statement you show that you know nothing about cars but that you only know about yours and how it is the bomb yo. O and since you said the only thing has changed was EFI, FYI chevy had fuel injection in the 50's dumb ass. Continue on with your theorys. :rockon:

Fox should take him pretty good all things considered. Like other have stated though a C6Z is a bad mofo straight off the showroom floor and it takes quite a few mods for f bodys, terminators and even C5Z's to run with a stock C6Z.

I can't believe I am getting involved in this because that vette is a cool car, but some of this crap is ridiculous. First, to compare these cars in monetary value is insane. This guy with the vette may not beat you, but when he is done he can crank up his A/C and cool himself down, crank up his radio and drown out your exhaust, and turn his wheels easily without his car moving lol. Not to mention it handles like crazy and rides as nice as a Cadillac, so look what he really got for his money. I'm not going to say he made a bad buy, but it probably wouldn't have been my choice for the same money. However, everyone has different tastes.

But, that gives noone the right to bash your fox. I have made a living beating these rich dudes with their supercars that they didn't think I could touch. I love seeing the look on their faces as I blow their doors off. That look of "Oh my god, I didn't spend enough money!" And the obvious "How is that piece of crap passing me?"

ALSO, WHAT EXACTLY IS WRONG WITH BEING A BROKE ***? Please explain. I've worked my tail off for years fixing other ppl's junk cars just to support my family, and hopefully have a little left over to tinker with my own stuff. I take serious offense to anyone that says you have to be rich to race. I do my best to use my extensive knowledge of cars and engine performance to make up for any lack of funds. I build my own engines, tune my own cars, swap my own tranny's, change my own tires, repair anything that I break myself, etc. At no point do any of my cars ever get touched by anyone else but myself. So, I apologize if I have a little pride problem.

Also, I have no problem with any GM, Mopar, or Ford. I have 2 mustangs, but I also love my Chevy truck, and I wouldn't mind having a new Challenger SRT8. That being said, I have a serious problem with these idiots that down talk other ppl's cars because there is only one reason for doing it: JEALOUSY! It's even worse when they make up stupid excuses such as, "YOU STARTED IT". There is an adult statement if I have ever heard one. That is basically what you said in your previous post; is it not 99REDLS1? What fun would it be if everyone liked the same cars? And, get rid of this "but you have a supercharger, 32 valves, and four cams" garbage. Why don't you just say what you mean: "I'm jealous that my car doesn't have a supercharger and four cams". True words of a whiner. TO ME THAT IS PRETTY SAD. And I'm glad you will never buy one because you do not belong in the Ford Family of Fine Cars. You don't deserve that TA either. I would probably buy a WS6 for the right price. Knowing you own a TA might change my mind.

Anyone that says a C6 ZO6 doesn't have a technological advantage over a fox body mustang of any kind needs their head examined. If it doesn't then GM deserves to be bankrupt. It is, at minimum, a newer car by 15 yrs. And if that isn't enough reason to have a technology advantage, then the price tag on that vette certainly is. I definitely hope ford was not as far ahead in technology 15 yrs ago as GM is now, or my truck was a seriously bad purchase. I recall several technology advances in the past 15 yrs. To go along with valve angles and other mechanical advances mentioned previously, what about coil on plug ignition, tunable computers, returnless fuel systems, and aluminum engine blocks.

So, to any of you ls1 tech guys that are on this website scavenging for just the right mustang to race so you can easily win. I extend this challenge. PICK ME! I will bring my car or you can bring yours. I will race at your DA or you can race at mine. I don't care what's under your hood or what your car runs. Just bring your title and/or a pile of cash because I don't race for free. The only rule is no whining and no excuses. So, hopefully the next thing out of any of you haters's mouth is where to meet and when. But, please hurry because it is almost time to put my cars away for winter. Also, pm me. Because I'm not on this website often. And, trying to contact me through this thread is sure to make me sound like a coward because I will probably not respond.

Now, go nuke that vette already, so people will quit talking about it. Make sure to pm me with all the important details. Just be glad the contest is who has the fastest car, and not, who has the nicest car. Because he beats you worse in that respect. Now I'm tired and sick of typing. Carry on.

I never said that there is anything wrong with being a broke **** I am not the wealthiest person in the world by no means. Like stated before i do not have a problem with fords at all I just wouldnt buy one so calm yourself alright buddy. Im sure you know more about cars than I do but like you said that you have been doing this for a lot longer than I have. You cant tell me though that all the stuff that I stated before is true. You think what you want and I will think what I want. I honestly dont give a flying crap who wins. These types of threads are stupin in my opinion. I say just go race and get it over with. End of discussion.
