Haha damn everyone is tearing each other up in here :burn:. Glad I read this thread. I too have driven a GT and it was nothing like anything else I have driven. I wouldn't say it handles like a 97 cobra though. That car just handles like its on rails and the power is rediculous. And I didnt think it was cheap on the inside at all but thats just me. everyone has their opinion though.

ok i have 2 pictures of the GT, if someone could tell me how ot post them on here, id appreciate it, sorry about the bad link....im in th emiddle of class....also i never said the Ford GT is my 97 cobra, i am just saying it is as tame as it, until u hit the throttle....my uncle's GT for the record pegs between 13-15 lbs, when u hit it it shoots to 15 then goes down a # or two..hes got FRPP exhaust on it....but w.e....ive watched it while he drives it, and while i drove it, it always zips back and forth....

and why would ford put only 8#'s on their supercar..? it does make 12 liek the gentleman has stated like 8 times....stock

Not Necessarily, with the right mods you can take a GT. There's cobra's out there making 1200-1400 HP on a single turbo, some Twin, you can argue the same for a GT500, which comes 500 HP Out of the box. 5.4L Cast Iron Block VS a 5.4L AL Block. slightly different internals obviously. One's a wet sump and the other is a dry sump.

There's guys that are TTing GT500's as well, Just throwing on a blower put's the gt500 at close to 6-700HP depending on which one you get.

Oh well goddam your turbo is probably huge man this is a stock GT. If you change the snout on the blower and tune it the car jumps to ****in 610HP sometimes higher. I know there are turbo jobs that will destroy a GT I would hope so. Were comparing a stock GT guys to a heavily modded Terminator.

I WILL HAVE THAT PIC FOR YOU ASAP....and what do you have against my SN95? i am 18 and i work 40 hrs a week...the 97 cobra is my dream car...i wanted one since i was 4....so chill....i mke just above minimum wage....all neighbors are very close ot my fam, and i drive their cars to car shows, i detail them, i do the works, i dont just walk around the hood asking to drive their cars, they ask me cause i do alot of favors for them and i work my ass of for them...they are good people, not snobby dicks.....and For the record, i pay for everything on my cobra, no one has helped me with it....the wealthy ppl arent just gonna hand me a diablo one day and say here have it....that doesnt happen, my fam is middle class surrounded by a ton of rich bastards in our town...who happen to be nice and want the kids to experience the fast cars so one day we work towards one, instead of smoking or doing somehting stupid...

also..my neighbor with the diablo inherited 4 million between him and his brother from his father who owned a ton of car lots in the local area, he get hammered drunk, and comes ot our partys, and we always drive that or his testarossa home....he is an alcoholic and been to rehab like 3 times and gets pulled over once a day in the damn thing....but he doesnt give a ****, so who knows....and like i said im not an ass with other ppls cars, i respect them for what they are...ill get a shot of the lambo while im at it

not bitching, just getting a kick out of it, i love the car and i would love to get one when i get older, i plan on it...i am not bitching about the car, i wash it and wax it on a reg basis, as well as his 63 vette and ferrari bb512 boxer, i think the car is perfect the way it is, just that Ford put like escape window switches and f150 door lock buttons, i thoguht ti was cool....but hey if its bitching then sorry...just pointing out small details....again just my quick .02

How many GT guys do you think use their car for road coarse? not many they sit in garages and collect dust, and only see day light every once in a blue moon even modded ones.

Because the 4v has ton's more of potential that's why. and you can't really compare a 4.6L 3v to a 5.4L sorry that's just dumb. the Gt500 already have forged bottom ends, where you gotta put pistons in etc, to a 3v, but then you gotta worry about Block strength.

Though, a few posts above you compared a turbo'd cobra making 1200-1400 hp to a GT. Hypocrisy?

^^thanks guys, and yea you can do a zillion other things to a stang, but the looks that thing get si unbelieveable, and i dont look at the car like its 250 grand, i feel bad for the idiot that paid that new, cause i too would say beef up a '10 gt500 and call it a day, but this car is great, and ive driven a shit load of cars, too many wealthy family memebers, the ford gt is a goal to buy tho for me, i want one really bad, best bang for the buck in my OP, but hey to each his own, the car is gorgeous and he fact that he ddrives it every day makes it so much cooler, my neighbor daily drives his lambo diablo, and i get a kick out of that thing, i drove that as well, not as fast as the gt obv. but realy sick looks wise, idk, ill get more proof this weekend...
