Hello, I need of 99 Cobra Intake to 5.4 Navigator heads adapter plates. My intake is nicely ported and though I know I could make more power with other intakes, i want to get this combo together and compression test the used engine (with stated 80K miles) before I plow mega $ into it. Please...

    milling 4.6 heads

How about on a 5.4 out of a Navigator. It will probably have 97 Cobra intake cams unless I find a deal on some better ones? I will degree them.

Head Gasket - fix or different engine

Thanks for the reply! In terms of make sure I didn't get coolant in, I would be able to see right? Meaning things would be cleaner from the steam? There is no coolant coming out of the exhaust and it sounds pretty normal. I can afford downtime. I have another car I can daily.

Head Gasket - fix or different engine

Hi, Long story short, I was driving my car across country (97 Cobra with an aviator swap), lost an idler pulley and limped it to a Napa auto parts. Engine got a bit hot and hasn't been the same since (runs hot). Other than that, it runs fine. I did a combustion gas test this evening and it...

Electrical Gremlins (steering column, wires smoking)

Car is a bit schizophrenic. Started up today. This has me wondering. If moisture from the storm and large puddles was the issue, it has been hot and it may have evaporated it. I drove the car for about 30 mins and added some engine bay heat in case that helps. I will start it again...

    PCM issues...which shop?

Hi All, I am in Alexandria, VA. I am having some PCM issues in my 97 Cobra. SCT xcalibrator 1. Had some issues getting the car started, got it started once after reloading a tune. Came back a day later, it wouldn't start. I have checked fuses, PATS, ignition module, voltage etc. I am...

Electrical Gremlins (steering column, wires smoking)

Update...back to not working. Smoke cleared, it was the scan gauge smoking in the OBD port. Order of events was, loaded the Factory tune from the SCT Xcalibrator (version 1) and the car worked. Went to drive it today and no dice. Tried to reload the factory or upgraded tune and it isn't...

Electrical Gremlins (steering column, wires smoking)

OK...got it running! Thanks all!!! So what fixed the car...I reloaded the factory tune from my XCal (version 1). My car has an aviator swap with a ported cobra intake and some other light mods, so about 12 years ago, I had a tune for that setup put in. Going to button it up and do some...

Electrical Gremlins (steering column, wires smoking)

A few updates: PATS seems to prove out...meaning I put a key in, turn it forward (but not crank) and the light goes out. I checked all underhood fuses, in particular, the 20 amp fuse in the engine bay fuse block. They all look good. There was a test I found for the PCM that I am going to...

Electrical Gremlins (steering column, wires smoking)

Agreed. I did some more investigation. I had a scan gauge plugged into the OBD2 port to provide me some sensor data while driving. The smoke was coming from there. When I pulled it and tried to start the car, no more smoke, but the car doesn't start. Wondering if it is the PCM, looking up...

Electrical Gremlins (steering column, wires smoking)

Thanks for the prompt reply...i did remove the surround of the steering column. I think I may peel back the wrap around the wires to see if something shorted out. Also, I will pull off the PATS assembly and check those wires. Car has had very few issue over its life, but I drove through...
