Bro, you don't get it. You are arguing about the merits of the car. We are talking about MARKETING the car to create HYPE and CONVERSATION and overall ALLURE of the vehicle. Nobody outside of a few car nuts even knows what a GT350R is. Ford doesn't market it's performance cars much. That's what we are saying. Dodge has gone ALL-IN on marketing the Demon and it has succeeded in creating a vehicle that has more hype and mainstream press than anything Ford has ever released.

I'm not arguing Ford doesn't build great cars. They do. They just don't care to market them. And GT350s are all over the place to buy. It's the R people want.

In 20 years, which car will be more in demand? Dodge Demon or 350R? Which car is more in-demand now. DEMON wins on both fronts.

Outside car nuts people don’t know what model Ferrari they’re looking at but they know it’s special. It’s the same with a GT350R, trust me.

FP has put the marketing dollars into R&D and engineers. It’s a strategic choice and they’ve been KILLING it, with vehicles that the resale market proves people love and find a good value. (If you don’t pay a huge mark up)

Demon isn’t my jam, but I’m glad it exists for those in to that kind of thing. Why frame as a competition?

Bro, are you talking of marketing now or greater want in 20 years?

As stated Fords marketing is fine as the are selling out, cars are selling for above msrp and hell even used they are selling for above MSRP. Has any other marketing done this?

The only thing Ford is missing is a fast 4 door sedan.

Brah...If they made 3,000 GT350Rs in a model year, it would not "sell out"

It would sell out without a problem, especially the way that Dodge did the allocation process. Unfortunately with the way they are built and the time it takes to get the carbon bits and specific parts for the car, its not possible to run 3,000 in 1 single year, right now anyway.
I will give Dodge props tho, the allocation process for the demon did help limit ADM's. It was a good idea!
Now, if they can build the damn things already. Its taking them a long time to get cars to people. Heck it may take 3 years to build 3,000

yea that sounds low 500. maybe thats eco-mode or somthn. the problem with the different opinions on them is some refer the "Pump Gas" as E85. to me pump gas is 93 octane buy I guess if u live in Fl or NY it is pump gas.

I agree. I don't buy any of vehicles looking to make an investment on them. If I like it, and I have the funds, I will buy it.

I don't think that's the case. I think with 93 octane they are over 700HP.
With the race gas, (100 octane), they are at the 840HP.

There's this thread on Svtp.

People have gone 127mph in stock gt500's. Lots of people have gone 130+ with minor mods. 140+ A handful of times.

This completely corroborates my claim that halo runs (rare) are right there with a demon, and so on and so on with similar weather/altitude and track conditions.

It's very funny how closely what I said earlier matches up to all of these times pretty much perfectly.

The caviate thing about takin it literally as ONE pulley, and non race gas and bla bla bla is straw grasping. $2k in mods and some slicks/skinnies puts a gt500 in stripped demon kill mode territory and a bit passed street/full interior demons.

Now, if we can see what people get done with demons... I want to see what one will do with a ported blower, 150 shot and e85 with e-dumped headers and some more weight pulled out to get it to 3999 or lighter. I think they have an 8.99@152-153 in them with that kind of combo. I think that $2k in mods plus wheels and tires would make for an epic beast.

It's a great time for American performance. Even the new zl1 is badass and has huge potential. You can get into the 9's as easy today as 11's were 10 years ago. Nuts.

For the record:

https://www.google.com/amp/s/www.to...-hellcat-challenger-reclaims-world-record/amp

The record is 8.71 & that’s with a stock motor, stock blower Hellcat with a ~150-200 shot I believe. Aftermarket tranny & rear end (Demon has upgraded already) & some suspension parts (Demon also has upgraded already).

The demon has a bigger blower & upgraded internals, meaning it can handle much more power. The Drag Paks would have far less HP than a FBO/E85/Sprayed Demon & stripped their weights would be close (demon heavier from blower/motor package most likely). The Drag Paks have run 9.0 & better...8.99 would be a walk in the park for a highly modified Demon. They have a highly respected tuner currently putting a Demon blower on a Hellcat (apparently helped Dodge with the tuning for Hellcats), so we’ll see how that goes.

On a side note, I’d like to see a GT500 w/$2k in mods & slicks/skinnies take on my FBO/E85 Charger Hellcat on slicks with a trunk full of groceries & a babyseat in the back seat.

Demon has 808 HP on 93 & can apparently run a 9.96 @ 136 on street trim (no front-runner/s/not sure if stripped or optioned out weight though).

Butttt that Tesla tho. I hear it can run in the 8s on just 1.21 Gigawatts...

Rumor is the next ford performance car is getting an auto, finally. It will be nice to see how much that improves drag times. My guess is we see 10.6 or under with this sub 4000 lb, 760HP+ car that can also shred corners and look good doing it.
Props to the demon. On the strip and race gas, especially with mods, should be fast SOAB.

NO electric cars for me. I DGAF how fast they are. lol They're ugly, expensive and sound like shit.

I actually like the way the new roadster looks. It's like they actually tried on that car unlike the 3 or the X. Yuck.

There is no doubt that you will be able to get excellent excelleration performance out of high discharge batteries, brushless motors. I just don’t see them being a great alternative for bringing a great track car with great driving characteristics, at least not in the near future. On the other hand, straight line bursts for 1\4 mile runs are here now and will get faster and faster. A 0-60 in under 2 seconds is bone breaking fast. Won’t be long and a mustang will be on that path,
