first 9 second zr1

mods their X900 package. Basically upper pulley (stock lower), headers w/ catted x pipe, ported throttle body, cold air. Still on the factory tune.

Yeah, with headers as well. I was a bit confused on that too.

That was a problem for too.

Stock ECU probably pulling timing, pretty sick. Are they not able to flash or run a piggyback off these newer Vettes? I'm behind on the times haha.

Pulley, intake, ported tb, and headers on stock tune? The zr1 must be hog rich. Can’t do that on the z06’s

I hope that they aren't running a stock tune without having logged it to verify things. I'd imagine that it would benefit from a custom tune, if it doesnt already have one.
So more details on that would be worth the read.
Maybe I will get lucky and be at Edgewater when the car runs again.

Last I heard no one has been able to crack the new ecu but that was when the zr1's were first hitting customers

Anyone know why GM stuck with the A8? instead of the a10 or maybe even a DCT?

My Uncle who is a service writer for the largest GM dealer in Upstate NY said they've been having a TON of vehicles coming in with 10 speed issues....maybe they don't have it all the way figured out. I have one in my F-150 with 45k on it with no issues so far. Not sure if it's just GM having issues or what.

There is a simple answer about the A10.... it doesn’t fit in the current Corvette platform.

My take on the ZR1... it is pretty bad ass but considering you can get a new C7 Z06 for 10k off, the price difference isn’t really worth it. Plus the mid engine Vette will be out soon and the ZR1will be old news. If I had to have one I would wait a year or so and get a new one for 15-20k off msrp. Just my 2cents...

Do you know if the new ZR1 comes with widebands from the factory

You would think being 2018, some new ECU that isn't cracked yet, that GM would finally put widebands in their blown V8s and have a computer that actually uses the data.

So, how is this car getting the benefits of those modifications without a proper tune? I'm still baffled by this.
So, stock tune with current mods and car is really fast.
What happens when the ZR1's come with those mods AND proper tunes?!?!
