Clutch Slipping?

Hello everyone.
I have a 13 gt500 with 32,000kms on it. I'm the original owner. Car has a cold air intake, throttle body (85mm) and tune. I do have experience wrenching on cars, but this one escapes me.
Car pulls hard in 1st and 2nd, but in 3, 4, 5, and 6th engine rpms climb, but the car does not pick up speed. It's much more noticable in 5 and 6 th gear. Almost like an automatic downshifting, rpms rapidly increase with almost no increase in vehicle speed.
Sound like a clutch issue? Still on factory clutch.

Any help anyone can provide would be greatly appreciated.

Yep, clutch slipping. More load is placed on it in higher gears, which is why you aren't noticing it in lower gears. However, you will soon be noticing the slippage in lower gears too, hahah!!!!

Usually accompanied by a burning smell, if you abuse it too much.

Time for new clutch!

Couple of followups if you will.
Rxt clutch? Or put the stock clutch back in if i plan to sell in the next few years?
Anyone know any good places in the Toronto area to have a clutch installed, besides the dealership?
Once again, thank you in advance.

I was in your position a few weeks ago. Mine had 25k miles on it. Yours has even less. I never considered replacing mine with an oem clutch. I'm not the original owner, so I figured maybe it was driven hard a few times. But you bought it new, so you should know if getting 22k miles out of it is good. I had the rxt installed with new slave cylinder and steel clutch line. My pedal effort is less then it was with oem clutch. As far as manners go, I get a tiny bit of chatter when taking off, but that's my fault for not giving it a lil more gas. I'm still trying to break it in properly. The rxt bolts onto your flywheel. So no need to resurface or replace your flywheel too.

Agree with all others - symptoms definitely point to clutch slip.

Most popular clutch choices I've seen include Mcleod, SPEC, Centerforce, and stock.

Tangential question: I'm not familiar with an 85mm throttle body for our cars. Are you sure about its size?

I'd go stock with the clutch. Too many guys report bad driving manors associated with "race" clutches.

I'm not completely positive about the differences between the gt500 and an 04 but my rxt works better than the stock one did especially on the street

Thanks for all the help everyone.. Much appreciated.

Big, fat fingers...i hit the 8 instead of the 6... 65mm throttle body.

I'm using twin-disc McCleod RXT and the pedal is nice and easy, however it does require a little bit of finesse to get smooth takeoff.

I would absolutely get the flywheel resurfaced (or, if need be, replaced) while you are doing this job.

What's the reason for resurfacing or replacing the flywheel if op buys the mcleod rxt? The car has 22k miles on it and the rxt discs don't come into contact with flywheel. The rxt is pre-assembled.

You want a clean smooth unwarped surface on any clutch replacement, for smoother operation and better life of the clutch

Yes, hydraulic. Been doing some reading over the past week or so... I now know what to expect.
