That's a great time, and a nice run on the video. I have been running there since 2003, when I had my first GT, then many other cars after (note sig LOL). I think my best in my stock GTR on run flats was a 1:48/49 (ish) on the new track, but I was there for a track day, and wasn't really beating on the car, giving ride alongs. That car only made 475whp, and was my daily at the time. We carry nearly the same speed through the kink, between 102-108, but your car launches from corner to corner much harder than my GTR. I will see if I can dig up the old video and post it here. I suspect my Evo could run pretty close to the same times as yours, but it really isn't a 'street' car, as it is gutted, and has about everything built or beefed up under the hood, making nearly the same HP as yours, but weighing only 2500lbs. Keep posting, I love watching your vids. I may have to come down there and run with you sometime, as I am here in Charlotte ... Is Jon K. still working with those events? He is a good friend of mine .. and a great instructor/driver.

Wow....thanks man. I'll be there a couple times next year and am booked already for the SCCA Time Trial National Tour in May.

I'm not sure I've met Jon K.

If you're in Gastonia, my buddy has a brewery there.......Cavendish Brewing.

There aren't memberships currently, but who knows what will happen under new ownership. Repaving the track is going to be great, but is also going to increase track fees.

No, just first on grid and fastest makes it look like a solo run. I start hitting traffic after 1 or 2 laps.
Great job man. Looks like a lot of fun. Its been like 9yrs since ive been ive taken mine on the road course.

Any idea what it sold for? I looked into buying it with a few partners several years ago. I could have built a brand new track with better facilities for what they were asking at the time.

No idea. I don't see anything on the web about it, but folks at the track were talking about it like it was a done deal.

Cool! Nice to run into you.

Carolina Motorsports Park
Friends of CMP,

The following Press Release went out yesterday:

PRESS RELEASE
October 24, 2019
Motorsports Capital to Acquire Carolina Motorsports Park
Motorsports Capital LLC announced the signing of an agreement to acquire through commonly owned and affiliated entities the assets of Carolina Motorsports Park, Inc. a 290-acre motorsports complex in Kershaw, South Carolina. Motorsports Capital will begin operating the facility on November 1, 2019.

The acquisition will allow Motorsports Capital to expand its offerings beyond capital raising and advisory services to include facility ownership and management.
Carolina Motorsports Park was built in 1999 by a group of investors led by Joe Hooker and Bob Humphreys. The Alan Wilson designed 2.27-mile, 14 turn road course has proven to be a popular venue for professional and amateur racers alike. In addition to the road course, the facility includes a .7-mile, 16 turn kart track and a skid pad.

Motorsports Capital's founder Michael J. Cummings stated "facility ownership is a natural next step in the growth of our company. Carolina Motorsports Park's ownership has done a great job building a first-class facility in addition to building a great organization and a loyal customer base. We consider ourselves fortunate to have the opportunity to continue the development of Carolina Motorsports Park".

Joe Hooker, one of Carolina Motorsports Park's founders stated: "We developed the facility to have a purpose-built road racing facility in the Carolinas and we are very proud of what Carolina Motorsports Park has become. We decided after 20 years, it was time to let another group take over and lead the facility's development." Bob Humphreys from Carolina Motorsports Park added: "It is "bittersweet" to sell something that has been such a big part of our lives for 20 years, but we are excited about what the next 20 years holds for Carolina Motorsports Park under Motorsports Capital's ownership".

Motorsports Capital LLC is financial advisory and capital raising firm serving the motorsports industry. Securities related transactions are handled through Synergy Capital LLC, a member of FINRA and SIPC. Motorsports Capital is not an affiliate of Synergy Capital.

End Press Release

Twenty years ago, when we decided to create a new purpose-built road course, we could never have imagined how many special memories we would create and how many friends we would make. We are very proud of what we have accomplished and for being able to provide a venue which so many have enjoyed over the years.

Now, after nearly two decades, we believe it is time to allow someone else to lead the development of Carolina Motorsports Park. We are confident the facility will be in good hands with the new owner and we are excited to see what the next 20 years hold in store. The shareholders of Carolina Motorsports Park, Inc. would like to thank each and every one of our partners, vendors and guests who have made this 20-year journey so rewarding.

You will still see the old faces at the track, but you will also see some new faces. Thanks again for your support and thanks in advance for your support of Michael and his vision. He has some exciting things planned, but I'll wait and let him tell you about that as he moves forward.
