When the 2020 Super Duty trucks were first loaded into the parts catalog, I went nuts looking at all the 7.3 info. I was surprised how similar it is to a LS engine. Also that oil pump is really interesting.

Interesting commentary regarding fuel economy improvement with the variable displacement oil pump. In the context of the abysmal fuel economy of the GT500's 5.2L engine and the pressure#'s I've seen (about 100psi warm) I wonder why a similar style pump hasn't been incorporated in that engine as well.

You'd have to redesign quite a few parts, and no body cares about mileage on a GT500.

True and true. Which is sad, because that says to me they've already moved on.

The only thing I don’t like about it so far is the way the water pump is set up. It looks like if you get a leak on those o-rings you’re getting cooling in the oil, just like the 3.5 and 3.7’s.
