not at my post...
I am just glad I already have a home garage gym.. Olympic plates, barbell, bench, hex bar, Roman chair with dip, pull up station, wide range of dumbells. I can do the big movements, though under normal conditions I’d go to the gym for all the accessory work.

I put some 2x4s up and put eye bolts at different levels. Got 300lbs of bands and a bunch of different handles. Anyone that says you can’t get a good work out with resistance bands and the proper set up has no clue what they are talking about. Between the garage set up and the fire station gym I’m holding steady at 189lbs still.

Thats a real nice gym you got there, havent seen a band setup like that before. Never been to a gym that ever used bands for anything else besides supplemental stuff. Personally I still prefer dumbbells because Ive used them for years so I never did any real research into making a home gym out of bands.

I currently use bands to fill a couple holes Im missing from no cable machines. Care to share the details on the bands you have/prefer, makes the ones I use look like as seen on tv stuff. Also tell me about that dip station hanging on your wall beneath your pullup bar. I got a couple metal folding chairs for my dips currently.

Thanks, the day they closed LA fitness (3/16) I immediately got on amazon and ordered the bands and the pull up bar / dip station. Everything is long sold out and before that they doubled the price. And I agree with you dumbbells and real weight is the best these bands are just to hold me over till I can get back to real training, I’m
Learning as i go with them, and there is definitely something to be said for time under tension and resistance work
outs. I came up with the 2x4 eye bolt idea while trying to figure out how I can maximize movements with these bands.

I tried to find the links to the bands and pull up station on amazon and it’s not even listed there anymore.

It’s a depressing time for bodybuilders/fitness enthusiasts and people that want to stay active. When this is all over I will be investing in a full weight set up and power rack for my garage

The name of the manufacturer should be enough. Was debating a power rack, bumper plates and small pulley station for the basement before all this got started but never had a timeline.

I was worried the gyms would close but didn’t expect it to happen so early on either. I have a few friends that own some small gyms in the area and they are saying June 9th is the earliest they have heard to possibly reopen.

Found the rack and bands in my order history. I ordered two sets of the bands they were $34 each set and then when I checked two days later they had gone up to $72 per set. Insanity

I used to have an Ironmaster adjustable set (ex got it in the divorce) that were great. They didn't take up much space, had a nice bench and cable tower attachment, and rack systems. It was the first compact home workout set that didn't feel like I was sacrificing anything by not going to a gym. The only thing I didn't like was their leg press attachment. It even took olympic weights. Damn things were indestructible too. The only downside was the time and effort it took to change over plates on their cam lock system. Changeover was fast but still took my entire rest and I couldn't do short rests and change weights....I would have much preferred to have a rack of dumbells. Powerblock adjusted much faster but I hated their dumbells and didn't trust all of the plastic.

Gyms are going to be dropping like flies after this Covid-19 shutdown. If you are diligent/lucky enough you might be able to buy equipment before they file for bankruptcy.

If you’re just looking to keep active until gyms open back up Hardcore Fitness is doing $20 a month for access to their livestream group. They live stream 3 different workouts a day and can play em back whenever. You only need dumbbells (or water jugs, whatever you have) and TRX (they show to make em too).
