The fact that GM still turned a profit Q1 should be very telling to ford to get their shit together.

In reality the virus only hurt the last 2 weeks of the 12/13 week quarter. They should be turning a profit. I’ll be impressed if they can turn a profit in q2.

They are way ahead of Ford and have been so for a while. They might break fords fseries sales record too.

They did not give up cars and they reduce pricing to move product 2 mistakes ford had made.

Shit 5.3 Crew Cab Z71 is $35k after discounts....

Exactly and base stx are still $45k that’s crazy!

We'll see after the Q2 reports come out how desperate Ford is to keep the #1 streak alive. COVID or not, you shouldnt build a 42 year legacy and let it go to shit because some asshole who sold furniture wants to act like the smartest guy in the room and let GM take it.

Shame on you Bill Ford.

Hasn’t GM already taken it?

I thought If you combine GMC with Chevrolet they already outsell Ford in the truck space.

ford’s streak is based on brand (Ford vs Chevy) not Ford vs GM.

I don’t track this so I could be wrong.

From my my understanding, its GMC and Chevrolet combined v. All of Ford F series.

This is correct. It also has to do with Ford claims all F-series, including Cabs and Van's.

GM over the years had various pick ups and cab configurations under different marketing groups and didn't lump them into one mega number.

So if you combine GMC and Silverado = 76,413 to Ford's 77,033.

The real story is how Ram has grown. Dodge was a DISTANT 3rd place all they through the 90's. 2013 FCA only sold 355k trucks, last year they sold 633k.

Nissan really dropped the pickup ball.
Yup, and their partnership with Cummins ruined the 5.0 engine and is already dead.

That engine was destined for the Tundra, but the recession delayed that and Nissan jumped on the XD gig.

5.0 is now basically dead.

Having a in-between pickup, not half ton, not 3/4 ton is retarded. Make it easy for the consumer, not harder.

I work for Nissan manufacturing. The new Frontier coming out is sick. I was in a meeting and viewed the upcoming models. Really good technology, 300+ HP, very cool.
What about TQ?

Yeah, agreed. Not sure what that play was. Either make a 2500 or just offer a diesel 1500 and brag about the extra capacity.

The half ton / three quarter ton thing is BS anyway. F150 (1500), with all the configurations ranges from 1,142 to 2,309lb payload.

Also, a ton is 2,000lbs, so a "Half Ton" should be a Silverado 1000, not 1500.

Costco has an extra $1000 off for GM trucks and SUVs. Never used them for a car purchase, or bought a new chevy for that matter either, always been a ford guy, but will probably check it out.

Ram stepped it up big time. Wonderful truck.
