Generally they only have locations within 1 day drive of a warehouse.
Their consistency is quite remarkable considering everything is fresh!

For those that are unaware they have truly fresh beef, cut their potatoes into fries on site literally seconds before going into 100% vegetable fryer, hand leafed lettuce... this list goes on. They have a small actual menu to keep logistics simple but a Secret Menu where you can get some really cool variations. Animal Style or bust!

agreed, 5 guys is the best fast food burger around here. They had a couple Whataburgers here and I'm not sure any are still open.

5 guys is the best we have around here. I still haven’t had a chance to get IN’OUT. It pisses me off because I was go going to try it for the first time in Vegas last month but nope, corona

a lot of people dont like In N Out fries or burgers probably due to their freshness and lack of added crap like tons of salt (like most fast food burgers). that's why the fries taste so plain. just fresh cut and fried in vegetable oil.

i get how an INO burger might not blow your mind the first time you have it. probably because people just order a cheeseburger. get it Animal style. it adds fried mustard and grilled onions. it takes the flavor to level 10. you can also get Animal fries as well.

5 Guys is great. its more like a homemade burger imo. their fries are fantastic. i love how you can make it how you want it with toppings. 5 Guys used to be crazy packed when it came out. the hype has definitely died down. INO, still always packed, since i was a kid and discovered it lol.

The Habit has really good charbroiled burgers that are fresh. not sure if theyre everywhere yet.

Whataburger is overhyped. to me its a lot like Carls/Hardees. its a decent burger. the spicy ketchup is great! lol

the most overhyped is White Castle. Good God that burger is like an am/pm burger lol. it is unique, that's for sure. if you grew up on it i can see how you can love it. to an outside its very meh. my uncle, a new yorker, said there is nothing better than when you're stoned or drunk at 2am than White Castle. well, yeah. Dennys tastes like Ruth's Chris when your stoned/drunk at 2am lol.

want to know how you can tell if a burger is good? eat it protein style. ie the meat wrapped in lettuce. INO still great and very popular that way. i tried that at McDonald's lololol. the bread hides the horrible meat inside.

i worked at In N Out in high school. one of the toughest jobs i ever had. you have to hustle the entire shift! and multi task. there's no hanging out chatting with co-workers. they are also picky on whom they hire. i had to take a math test lol. back then, the registers didnt tell you the change from an order. crazy long line and someone buys $17.31 worth of food and hands you a $20 bill and 18 cents. wtf? great, thanks man. not thats its hard math lol, but when theyre slammed, and the line is long, and you cant make mistakes... and this happens over and over all day lol. now the register tells you the change due at least. i also had to peel the potatos in the potato peeling machine, then cut them into fries. break apart the fresh lettuce and more. they have NO freezers. they have an ice machine that is used to make the milk shakes with milk and ice and whatever else is used. meat deliveries 3 times a week. i dont recall how often the bread was delivered. they try to only use Kennebec potatos. the operation is a well oiled machine. i made almost double what Mc'donalds was paying, the day i started. and you earn it.

i believe they are the only fast food place to never lower their prices nor offer coupons, ever. so specials or limited time bs. and it sells like crack, every day, all day. thats one of the worst things about it. when we want INO for lunch or dinner and we drive there and there's a huge ass line. you have to go during non-peak times lol

The texture of In-N-Out fries is what makes them suck. They’re more waxy than crispy and animal style is not some magic sauce. Also I hate how half my ****ing cheese gets stuck on the burger wrapper.

Anyway

5 guys is good but two burgers and two fries being close to 20 bucks, plus no drive thru = not fast food

Whataburger is amazing drunk food

Good on BJ, happy to hear he protected himself and chick from two patrons of the didndomuffin bakery

INO still reasonably priced.

while out in the field for work, i stopped at Carls Jr (hardees) for lunch. like $11 for a burger meal. wtf? it looked like someone stepped on it and the fries are blah. McDs has skyrocketed too, and even worse burgers, though the fries are the best in the industry. i tried making the ultimate meal once. INO burger with McDs fries. couldnt get the items together fast enough before stuff started getting cold :( and all of it sucks reheated lol.

wendys is still decently priced and decent food.

it blows my mind paying $25 for two burger meals at a drive through for so-so food. hell you can go to red robin or chilis and get a real burger for that price.

McDs used to have the best fries. Unrivaled. Don’t know what the **** they are doing with their fries as of late. I prefer Burger King fries out of Mcd, Wendy, whata and king.

Best fast food burger, IMO, would be 5guys.

For double the price and with shittier fries. Whataburger is decent, but had McDonalds quality workers. In and Out wins. It's nothing epic, but it's a damn good burger/fries/drink for like $7.50, stores are clean, workers friendly, etc.
